Dit is de enige georganiseerde dagtour van Ioannina naar Meteora, waardoor het een zeldzame en handige manier is om een van de meest buitengewone UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocaties van Griekenland te ervaren. Onder begeleiding van een deskundige lokale tour Leider zie je niet alleen alle 6 Meteora kloosters en bezoek je 3 van hen binnen, maar krijg je ook een dieper inzicht in de geschiedenis, spiritualiteit en geologie van het gebied. Geniet onderweg van meerdere stops bij de beste panoramische uitzichtpunten, korte wandelingen voor adembenemende fotomomenten en Expert storytelling die tot leven brengt hoe de eerste monniken hun kloostergemeenschap bouwden bovenop deze dramatische rotsformaties. Met vrije tijd in Kalambaka of Kastraki voordat u terugkeert naar Ioannina, combineert deze tour cultuur, landschap en lokaal inzicht op een manier die de Meteora-ervaring echt onvergetelijk maakt.

De tour begint met het ophalen van je hotel of appartement. Na je pick-up vertrekken we vanuit de stad Ioannina richting Kalambaka
Onze tour Leider zal bij u zijn om u alle informatie te geven die u nodig heeft over het gebied, een enorme hoeveelheid kennis met u te delen en hij zal u helpen om te visualiseren waarom en hoe de eerste monniken erin geslaagd zijn om een van de grootste kloostergemeenschap in Griekenland te vestigen op de top van deze unieke rotsen. We zien alle 6 kloosters en bezoeken er 3 binnen (bij de sunset tour bezoeken we maar 2 kloosters) Ook met voldoende stops naar de beste uitzichtpunten en met korte wandelingen, zal hij u alle geologische verschijnselen uitleggen die moesten optreden om deze indrukwekkende rotsen te kunnen vormen. Het panoramische uitzicht biedt u een unieke ervaring en geeft u de kans om de meest indrukwekkende foto's te maken om met uw vrienden te delen.
Na afloop van de georganiseerde tour heeft u 1 uur vrije tijd in de stad Kalambaka of Kastraki om op eigen gelegenheid te verkennen of te lunchen (niet inbegrepen in de prijs) voordat we terugkeren naar Ioannina

My mother and I had a great experience visiting Meteora and seeing the monasteries! It was an early rise day in order to join the larger tour bus but definitely worth the visit.
Very positive experience. The driver was on time picking us up from the hotel. He gave us a lot of information and also recommendations and where to visit in the area. Meteora is an impressive location worth visiting at least once. We would recommend this day-trip without reservastions.
I have wanted to visit the Meteora Monasteries for many years and this trip did not disappoint. Our tour guide, Ioannis made our trip a great experience. During the drive up and back, he pointed out landmarks and provided us with some history of the area. The tour itself was breathtaking and very well run. We had many stops along the way and visited three Monasteries. On the return home, Ioannis gave us some great recommendations on places to visit in Ioannina and even went out of his way to take us to a local supermarket to buy a bottle of spirits as we were visiting friends that evening. Great well organised tour Metaora is stunning a Nd a must see.Our pick up transport guide Yiannis was fantastic,very informative and helpful great to travel with from Ioannina to Kalabaka.A very pleasant trip!
Giannis was an absolute legend! Hands down, the best tour guide we’ve had. He went above and beyond what you’d expect from a tour guide, he drove us from Ioannina to Meteora, where we joined up with a local tour which had an itinerary of 3 monasteries (Grand Meteoron, Agia Barbara, and Varlaam). On the way there, he gave us a comprehensive overview of the local history, pointed out key sites along the route and persevered whilst we practiced our Greek with him. Shortly after the tour, Giannis met us back at the travel office in Kalambaka (the village closest to Meteora), from there he added a few extra pit stops on the way back to Ioannina, including the incredible wax museum in Ioannina and the ticket office where we needed to buy our bus tickets for the next day. Please don’t hesitate to book with them.
The tour we took to Meteora was wonderful! It was by far the smartest thing we did on our trip. We were picked up at our hotel and everything was terrific.
I travelled to Athens from England with a friend. We then took a coach trip to Ioannina and began our journey to Meteora by being picked up by Ioannis. He delighted us with facts about Meteora and the interesting anecdotes about Greece’s wonderful history. I enjoyed the trip immensely, it was truly a breath taking place and a wonderful experience.
