SHAME ON OTHER PEOPLE! VIATOR: COMPLETE FRAUD AND WASTE OF TIME DO NOT HIRE EXCURSIONS WITH VIATOR. Our experience on our trip from Thessaloniki to Meteora was a resounding failure and a testament to the total unprofessionalism of this company. They changed our departure time (from 8:00 AM to 5:55 AM) a day in advance, forcing us to waste FIVE HOURS of our short vacation. This included a two-and-a-half-hour wait on the way (and the same on the way back) to a completely abandoned train station: dirty, with black mold on the walls, bugs and an excruciating smell of tobacco. The biggest indication of their lack of rigour is that we had to insist on being sent the tickets, which, to our surprise, were bought and sent just the day before, confirming that Viator did not manage the reservation in time. They play with the limited time of the tourist. If you value your time, money and well-being, stay away from this company. They're not reliable.

Very interesting tour in a unique place. A little tired by the steep climbs on foot and the heat that is already felt at this time of year.

We were the only people on our tour who came from Thessaloniki. Everyone else came from Athens for the day. Communication was managed well though our arrival in Kalambaka was a little mixed up but we missed nothing so that was good. The trip from Thessaloniki was approximately 4 hours each way so it was a long day. Having said that, it was worth it to visit the area of Meteora. We visited 3 monasteries and saw three others from a distance. We had more than enough time at each of them. Ladies must wear a skirt (even over long pants) and no skin can be seen from the waist up so come prepared as they are very strict. Skirts were available at all three monasteries to be borrowed if you don't mind sharing with many others. Our guide, Clement, was easy to understand and made the transitions at each stop easy. Highly recommend the tour as it is a very special place.
