Na opgehaald te zijn van uw verzamelpunt reizen we Meteora met de bus in een kleine groep Tijdens de 4 uur durende reis geniet je van het prachtige platteland terwijl je reist en maak je enkele foto's. Aankomst in de traditionele stad Kalabaka tegen de middag, perfecte tijd voor een traditionele lunch (indien optie geselecteerd) om je te vullen met energie (Veganistische en vegetarische opties beschikbaar)
Bezoek de kluizenaarsgrotten die bij de lokale bevolking bekend staan als de grotten van Badovas. De kluizenaarsgrotten van Badovas liggen heel dicht bij het dorp Kastraki. Tussen het dorp en de stad Kalabaka Badovas is de naam van het nabijgelegen gerestaureerde maar verlaten klooster gewijd aan Sint Nicolaas van Badovas. De grotten waar kluizenaarsmonniken in de 14e eeuw een buitengewoon leven leidden, liggen tussen de stad Kalbaka en het dorp Kastraki. Het gebied is omgeven door ondergedompelde rotspilaren genaamd Pyxari en Amparia en enkele andere kleinere rotsen.
Maak kennis met onze lokale gids en Bereik de Meteora-rotsen, waar een onvergetelijke ervaring op je wacht. De grotten van Meteora bestaan uit zandsteen en conglomeraat en zouden al 50.000 jaar geleden bewoond zijn geweest. Luister naar de geschiedenis en het belang van het gebied door onze lokale gids en koop onze meertalige audiogids en betreed 3 actieve kloosters om een glimp te krijgen van het leven van de monniken. (entree niet inbegrepen 3 euro) In de 9e eeuw begonnen monniken ze opnieuw te bewonen en in de 14e eeuw werden de eerste kloosters gebouwd. Tegenwoordig is Meteora de thuisbasis van een van de belangrijkste complexen van oosters-orthodoxe kloosters. Bekijk alle zes deze kloosters gebouwd op grote, natuurlijk gevormde pilaren terwijl je de omgeving verkent en foto's maakt van je leven.
Na een volledige dag vol ontdekkingen wordt u teruggebracht naar Athene, naar het door u gewenste afleverpunt. (4 haltes)

We visited Meteora yesterday and it was absolutely breathtaking. The landscapes are stunning, but what made this day truly special was the incredible team.Our tour guide, Frederiki, was amazing. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and shared so many fascinating insights about the history and culture of the monasteries.A big thank you as well to our drivers,.They were professional, very friendly, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire journey. They even gave each of us a bottle of water and shared the absolute best spots for taking photos.Everything was perfect from start to finish. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Greece!

Our day at Meteora was wonderful. Our guide was very kind, and her explanations were clear and interesting. The bus journey was pleasant, and the stop halfway allowed us to stretch our legs, which was definitely necessary. The monasteries were absolutely breathtaking, and we have no regrets at all. However, we were extremely disappointed with the restaurant that was recommended to us, “La Taverna”, located in the village. For the price (€30), we only received a digestif and a rather dry meal that lacked flavour. Unfortunately, I also found two black hairs and one brown hair in my dish, even though I am blonde, which was obviously very unpleasant and made me lose my appetite. This is also why I was unable to finish my meal, which is something I never do. No dessert or coffee was offered either. Perhaps it would be better to recommend another restaurant, with more appetising and carefully prepared dishes for the price. Other than that, everything was perfect.
The experience was very good, the bad thing is that lunch is very early and there is very little time, you barely have time to find a restaurant and eat. Otherwise everything was good, well explained and it is convenient that they drop you off near the monastery entrances with the bus.
Long trip but it is absolutely worth it. Unique landscape and incredible monasteries. The guide Friederiki was excellent. Acceptable lunch

The guide Eva was exceptional, very friendly and extremely professional. The driver did an excellent drive. The tour was wonderful and Meteora dismisses words, it is an absolutely fantastic place!
This was a great trip with some caveats. The visit to the monasteries was truly amazing and we are so glad we went. The buses were clean, comfortable and had good air conditioning. The guides were so-so. For most of the trip they used a pre-recorded audio, which was ok because the English was good. The logistic could have been better. There was no hotel pickup, so we had to make our way to a pickup point. In addition, we were never sent an itinerary so we didn't know if there was going to be a break on the 4 and a half hour trip from Athens. We chose the option that did not include lunch thinking that we would simply buy our own lunch. We were only given a half an hour for lunch and there were no other restaurants near enough to go to so we were forced to eat the set lunch at the one the tour operator was using. It was NOT very good. Other than that, we really enjoyed the trip. It is long however, so be aware. At least 4 and a half hours in the bus both to and from.

I had a lovely experience with this day trip to Meteora. Everything was well organized/optimized and I would recommend this company to anyone interested in viewing this spectacular site. Perhaps two things could have made that trip even better for us: 1) the information on pickup points could be made clearer as we walked to Omonia, when there was in fact a closer pick-up point to our hotel and 2) the audioguide in the bus was not always understandable. The text was read too quickly and the stops at the end of sentences not clearly marked, so a lot of infirmation was missed in the end. Everything was fine otherwise. Thank you.
