Sara was very nice and we had a wonderful time enjoying local foods and watching the astronomical clock.
Sara was so professional, knowledgeable and personable, we were a nice size group and she managed our time well, we were able to hear about the history of Messina and enjoy the great food while not feeling pushed for time. Thank you Sara for the great experience
Our family really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was Sicilian and so knowledgeable. We loved going from restaurant to restaurant trying out local foods. The serving sizes were huge and we ended up taking the cannoli's to go as we were all so full. Lovely way to spend part of the day in Messina.
We had a wonderful time on the Flavours of Messina food tour with Do Eat Better Experience. Our guide, Sara, was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job mixing the history of Messina with its incredible local food. We started with a true Sicilian classic: granita with brioche col tuppo (served with fresh cream), and it was the perfect introduction to Sicilian cuisine. Next, we enjoyed authentic Focaccia Messinese, topped with anchovies, cherry tomatoes, escarole, and local tuma cheese—a delicious specialty that was unlike any pizza we’d had before. We then sampled a classic arancino filled with rich meat ragù and peas, crispy on the outside and full of flavor. The tour finished on a sweet note with freshly filled cannoli—one with creamy ricotta filling and the other with chocolate hazelnut. Both were fantastic. Along the way, Sara showed us some of Messina’s highlights, including the Duomo di Messina, the beautiful Fountain of Orion, and the famous Astronomical Clock on the cathedral’s bell tower. Watching the noon performance, with the roaring lion and crowing rooster, was something we’ll always remember. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and it was a great way to experience both the flavors and history of Messina in just a few hours. We’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Messina and wanting to experience authentic Sicilian food with a knowledgeable local guide.

Alessia (I believe was her name) was amazing! So kind, knowledgeable and patient, as we were a larger party. This was a great way to see the city while tasting delicious local favorites. (Granita e brioche, Focaccia e birra, Arancino e Cannoli). Highly recommend!
Sara was able to provide a wonderful Sicilian food experience. She was able to navigate us through all the stops among the rush of multiple groups moving around at the same time. The food stops covered a nice little variety of foods, while learning about the history along the way. The pacing was just right and we finished well before our All Aboard time. If you want a good introduction to the Sicilian experience, this tour will be a good start.
Sara was fantastic! She provided lots of history and explanations of the food. I would highly recommend this tour. We had 4 food stops and the amount of food was plentiful, we really could have shared, however the food was amazing.
This was an outstanding day with an even better guide, Sara. We were able to experience authenticate Sicilian (Messina), Italy. We went to 4 different local eateries, Sara told us the stories and traditions behind each dish. They are full size dishes so come hungry with a desire to explore dishes you may have never had before. Also, be prepared for a surprise at noon. This is worth the money and was one of the best days we had! Thank you Sara, you are the best!
