De tour vertrekt vanaf de haventerminal van Messina. Uw chauffeur haalt u op bij de gate van uw schip. Over 45 minuten komen we aan in Savoca, beroemd om zijn charmante historische centrum en ook bekend als decor voor enkele scènes uit de film "The Godfather". Bezienswaardigheden zijn onder andere de kerk van San Nicolò en de beroemde Bar Vitelli, waar het personage van Michael Corleone Apollonia ten huwelijk vroeg. Na een tussenstop van ongeveer een uur vertrekken we naar Castelmola. Gelegen op een heuvel op ongeveer 530 meter boven zeeniveau, biedt het een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht op de Ionische kust en de Etna. Na een tussenstop van ongeveer een uur vertrekken we naar Taormina, waar je 2 uur vrije tijd hebt om een van de mooiste steden van Sicilië te verkennen. Terug in Messina bezoeken we de kathedraal, beroemd om zijn klokkentoren waarin het grootste en meest complexe mechanische en astronomische uurwerk ter wereld te vinden is.

I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Sicily. Pickup was on time and very close to our cruise ship. Both vehicles and drivers were fantastic. Our day began when we met our tour guide, Andrea, right at the port (where our cruise ship docked). He greeted us (myself, my husband, and our 12 and 14-year-old sons) warmly, and we headed to his air-conditioned van. As we drove, he began talking to us about his love of his home, Sicily. Our visits to the three different places were filled with incredible moments and tons of information. There are so many different points during the day when my family made memories we will never forget! Andrea took us to a very cool bar in Castelmola— delicious cannoli! And when we arrived in Taormina, he gave us the best lunch recommendation. It was our favorite meal of our entire 13 -day trip through Spain, France and Italy. To say we enjoyed this tour would be an understatement. It was one of the best we’ve been on. Thank you, Andrea! Until we meet again!
