Piazza Navona is een van de beroemdste pleinen in Rome, gebouwd door de familie Pamphili. De vorm is die van een oud stadion: het werd in monumentale stijl gebouwd in opdracht van paus Innocentius X.
We bezoeken de overblijfselen van het Domitian-stadion (Unesco-erfgoed) dat zich onder Piazza Navona bevindt, ongeveer 4,50 meter boven straatniveau; het archeologische gebied is wat overblijft van het eerste en enige tot nu toe bekende voorbeeld van een gemetseld stadion in Rome.
Het Pantheon is een gebouw uit het oude Rome in de wijk Pigna in het historische centrum, gebouwd als een tempel gewijd aan alle vroegere, huidige en toekomstige godheden. Het werd gesticht in 27 voor Christus. door Arpinate Marco Vipsanio Agrippa, schoonzoon van Augustus.
De Trevifontein is een van de beroemdste fonteinen ter wereld en een waar meesterwerk van barokke kunst. Ontworpen door Nicola Salvi en voltooid door Giuseppe Pannini in 1762, stelt het Oceanus voor, de god van de zee, rijdend op een schelpvormige strijdwagen getrokken door zeepaarden. Traditie zegt dat het gooien van een munt in de fontein zorgt voor een terugkeer naar Rome.
Op een steenworp afstand van de Trevifontein, meer dan negen meter onder het huidige straatniveau, brachten de archeologische onderzoeken die tussen 1999 en 2001 werden uitgevoerd tijdens de renovatie van een bioscoop een groot oud wooncomplex aan het licht. De term "Stad van het water", die gewoonlijk wordt gebruikt om het archeologische gebied van Vicus Caprarius te definiëren, is echter te danken aan het element dat de site ongetwijfeld het meest kenmerkt. In de 2e eeuw na Christus werd een groot waterreservoir gebouwd in een deel van het gebouwencomplex, waarschijnlijk gebruikt tot de 6e eeuw na Christus

Buyer beware. This was such a bad tour that I am still considering asking for our money back. Guide was not very informative, not fun, and not a single special moment on the trip. No communication from company before tour, other than asking if we could change the day and time. They didn’t pick up the phone when we couldn’t find them at the meeting place, despite three people working for company and only four guests. We waited before going into the pantheon for three other groups to join us-isn’t that against basic small group tour etiquette? We gave the night Segway tour and Rome street food tour 5 stars, do yourself a favor and choose these instead. My son is still complaining about this two days later. This is my worst experience on a paid tour ever.

The guide assigned to your tour is a licensed professional guide who consistently receives excellent feedback from our guests for both knowledge and engagement. Having the tour with only 4 participants is not simply a small group experience, but almost a private one. In addition, for the Pantheon portion only, 5 extra participants joined for approximately one hour, still keeping the group under 10 participants in total. All guests were equipped with headsets, ensuring clear audio and continuous explanations from the guide throughout the experience. Regarding communication and assistance, our team was fully available by phone, message, and email before the tour. Furthermore, besides the guide, a separate staff member was also present at the meeting point dedicated to the check-in process for your group. While we fully respect your personal impression of the tour, we are disappointed to learn that the experience left such a negative feeling, as this is certainly not the level of experience we aim to provide. This tour is a MUST. My guide was so knowledgable and professional and was so kind to give me a recommendation for a local handmade leather store, which I ended up getting my big duffel bag I was looking for! I took myself to Italy for my birthday and I highly recommend this tour. The history of Rome is just insanely interesting to me that all these thousands of years later the remnants of the city are still there, and people with iPhones and lip filler are living above layers of literal history.

Meeting place was changed 12 minutes prior to the start and we missed the text. We then tried to contact the guide to attempt to meet at the second venue but after numerous attempts and no contact from the guide we missed the whole tour. We are requesting a refund. The tour company, not Viator, said that the meeting place had not changed and was always at the Pantheon, yet their guide contacted us that there was a change - very disappointed and frustrated.
