Bezoek en rondleiding door Port Louis. Geniet van een bezoek aan Port Louis, de hoofdstad van Mauritius. Port Louis is de grootste stad van Mauritius en het economische en administratieve centrum van het eiland. Vlak naast het centrale plein kunt u langs het met palmbomen omzoomde Place d'Armes wandelen. U kunt een aantal prachtige Franse koloniale gebouwen zien, met name het regeringsgebouw en het stadstheater. Je hebt vrije tijd om Port Louis Waterfront en het winkelcentrum Le Caudan Waterfront te bezoeken. De bruisende Waterfront van Port Louis biedt spannende winkel- en uitgaansgelegenheden vermengd met hotels en restaurants van wereldklasse met uitzicht op de haven van Port Louis. De waterkant is een essentiële speler geworden van het levendige toerisme en het culturele leven op Mauritius. Vooral de ambachtelijke markt is een bijenkorf van activiteit met een prachtige ambiance waar je zeker veel souvenirs zult vinden voor het gezin thuis. Een andere plek om te bezoeken is de centrale markt van Port Louis - de markt is een leuke plek om te bezoeken en de ideale plek om veel lokaal gemaakte producten, textiel, Mauritiaanse kruiden, fruit en veel souvenirs te vinden voor zeer goedkope prijzen. In uw vrije tijd kunt u door de straten van de stad wandelen en verschillende bezienswaardigheden bekijken, zoals: de Anglicaanse en katholieke kathedralen, de belangrijkste stadsmoskee, Chinatown, het Supreme Court-huis, de 18e-eeuwse kazerne en het Natural History Museum (gratis toegang). Fort Adelaide (ook bekend als La Citadelle) werd gebouwd op een zeer strategische locatie op hoger gelegen gebieden van Port Louis, op 240 voet boven zeeniveau. De bouw van Fort Adelaide begon in 1832 en werd na bijna tien jaar voltooid. Fort Adelaide biedt een enorm panorama op Port-Louis en de haven. De Britten bouwden dit fort uit angst voor een burgeroorlog van de overgebleven Franse kolonisten op het eiland en ook om de haven te beschermen tegen vijandelijke aanvallen. Een rit bergopwaarts naar Fort Adelaide, garandeert een adembenemend uitzicht op Port Louis en de bergketen rond Port Louis.
Nationale botanische tuin van Mauritius. De botanische tuin herbergt een ongelooflijke verscheidenheid aan tropische planten, waarvan er vele inheems zijn. De Botanische Tuin is een van de meest bezochte bezienswaardigheden van Mauritius. Bijna 300 jaar geleden werd het voor het eerst geopend als privétuin door de Franse gouverneur van Mauritius. De botanische tuin strekt zich uit over eindeloze hectares land en het kan meer dan een week duren om de hele tuin te bedekken. De Botanische Tuin is bevolkt met meer dan 650 plantensoorten waaronder de beroemde Baobabs, de palmier bouteille, de onuitwisbare gigantische waterlelies, tientallen medicinale planten, 85 verschillende soorten palmen, een grote kruidentuin en nog veel meer. Als onderdeel van de tour zul je de botanische tuin ontdekken en proeven van hun schoonheid.
Suikerlandgoed en museum. Het Sugar-landgoed en -museum in het noordwesten van Mauritius strekt zich uit over 5000 vierkante meter. Op het landgoed ontdekt u het diepgaande effect en het belangrijkste onderdeel van suiker in de geschiedenis en identiteit van Mauritius. Je zult ook lokale suikerverhalen en -verhalen horen over suiker in Mauritius en over het belang ervan. Als onderdeel van de Sugar Estate-tour kunt u een selectie van panoramavideo's en films over veel suikergerelateerde onderwerpen bekijken. Je hebt ook de mogelijkheid om te winkelen in de boetiek van het landgoed. Mis deze geweldige kans niet om te genieten van de smaken en unieke lokaal gemaakte speciale suikers te kopen, en ook de zeer beroemde lokaal gemaakte Mauritiaanse rum!
Over de rode kerk in Cap Malheureux Een van de meest bekende kerken in Mauritius is de Notre Dame Auxiliatrice-kapel, een rooms-katholieke kerk die bekend staat om zijn levendige rode dak tegen de heldere turquoise zee en de azuurblauwe lucht. Op tien minuten van Grand Bay ligt het kleine vissersdorpje Cap Malheureux. Het vertaalt zich naar "ongelukkige / ongelukkige Kaap", vanwege de vele schepen die daar in het verleden zijn vastgelopen. De Notre Dame Auxiliatrice-kerk staat bekend om zijn mooie rode dak, dat veel nieuwsgierige voorbijgangers trekt en een schilderachtige achtergrond biedt voor waardige kiekjes. Deze eenvoudige kapel werd gesticht in 1938 en is opgedragen aan de Maagd Maria. Het is ideaal gelegen op het meest noordelijke punt van Mauritius en biedt een adembenemend uitzicht op de vijf noordelijke eilandjes, waaronder Coin de Mire (Gunner’s Quoin). Deze rooms-katholieke kerk trekt zowel veel bezoekers als aanbidders. Op zondagochtend zijn er veel toeristen die zich bij de mis voegen. De kerk, evenals het strand achter de kerk is een populaire plek voor pasgetrouwden om hun foto's te laten maken - dus het is niet ongebruikelijk om hier paren tegen te komen. Op het strand achter kunt u genieten van de zon en genieten van het uitzicht, terwijl de kinderen kunnen spelen in het witte zand en het onderwaterleven in de rotspoelen kunnen ontdekken. Vissers meren ook vaak aan, met een verse vangst.

This was a brilliant day out. Paul was an amazing guide and very safe driver. He gave us lots of interesting information on the history of Mauritius. Showed us the local makers in Port Louis as well as the tourist areas. The fort was also great. Next stop was the sugar factory and rum tasting which was also very interesting and the rum good. Unfortunately it rained while we were at the botanical gardens but it was still very interesting and we saw the giant tortoise. This was a brilliant day out. Thank you Paul.
I had a wonderful North Tour in Mauritius with Deva, and I am extremely happy with the whole experience. From the beginning, he was very professional, punctual, friendly, and easy to communicate with. He made me feel comfortable straight away and took very good care of me during the entire day. Once again, I unfortunately booked a guided tour of Port Louis, we have a very friendly taxi driver, but by no means, a guide. apart from visiting the citadel and the market downtown. Very poor visit, total disappointment. I will no longer book by your services, in view of the amounts paid, unjustified.

L’île Maurice n’est pas une destination à bas coût. Les tarifs reflètent les charges locales, le véhicule, l’accompagnement, les taxes et commissions. Le prix reste le même, que vous soyez 1 ou 4 personnes, alors que d’autres entreprises facturent par personne pour des prestations similaires. Nous aurions apprécié que vous nous contactiez directement pour partager vos remarques, plutôt que de publier un commentaire susceptible de nuire à notre réputation. Unlimited recommended tour of the beautiful north. Our driver Rakesh was friendly and helpful, but too reserved for our taste with his explanations. Since we had the southern tour with the same company before, we know that there are also drivers there who are also great guides and happy to be able to inform about the history, culture and cuisine of their country. Despite small limitation this time, still a great experience with unbeatable value for money! Absolutely serious, punctual and reliable.

We had a very nice day. Were only in Port Louis at the port with shops. Then we visited the market hall and the fortress. Where we had a great view over the city. Afterwards we went to the sugar factory with tasting. At our request, our driver drove us to the supermarket... because the same one was much cheaper than in the sugar factory. The botanical garden was unfortunately closed that day. We were very happy with our driver. He told us a lot about the country, responded to our wishes. And we felt safe on the car ride. This was a private guided tour, and the driver was called Ridwaan. I was the only passenger and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Sights included Cap Malheureux (Catholic Church) which is situated on the roadside on the bay and has been well photographed over the years. 15 mins We went here first because of the traffic. Then to Port Louis Fort for about 30 mins (not much in here but ok for photos) then the harbour - this was ok, very busy and some historic value in some of the buildings and the colourful market. I didn’t spend the whole allotted time here, I was there for history not shopping. Then off to the Mauritius National Botanical Gardens - this was beautiful and I spend 1 hour and 45 mins here (pay to get in - about £5 and a guide for about £2.50) Unfortunately I got caught in a heavy downpour but the driver gave me a large umbrella but couldn’t move around much so took shelter in one of the many huts. The driver then took me for lunch to a local restaurant and it was good quality and cheap enough. The popular beer in Mauritius is Phoenix Then last and definitely not least was a visit to the Sugarcane Museum (L’aventure De Sucre) which, for me, was the highlight of the tour. It costs about £19 admission but is worth every penny. Again you can have a guide but I chose to go round myself without the wait. This place is no longer in production but it’s an excellent museum. It’s packed with both sugarcane and Mauritian history and is well presented and very interesting. At the end there is a bar with free Rum tasting (with your receipt-so keep it!) The driver stayed in the car for the whole duration so no need to worry about being picked up again. Great day and would Recommend it although I do like to be in a group so it was strange having the one on one tour.
We had a lovely day with our guide Farad. We visited the citadel and craft and general market in Port Louis. Farad was always on hand to carry our shopping and very informative. I loved the umbrellas which apparently are changed each month and are currently orange for Diwali. We did tea tasting and then on to Grand Baie at the very tip of the island and finally to the Pampelmousses botanical gardens. We had a really nice time
