Ga met ons mee naar Materuni Village, wandel, leer, eet, drink en dans met de lokale bevolking. Het is een speciale dagtour vanuit Moshi, bezoek de Materuni-waterval die 90 meter hoog is, loop tussen koffie- en bananenbomen, leer over de flora en fauna op de hellingen van de Kilimanjaro. Tijdens de tour leer je over de Chagga-gemeenschap en hun geschiedenis, geniet je van het prachtige uitzicht op de Kilimanjaro, ervaar je de koffietour vanaf de lokale boerderijen en geniet je ten slotte van heerlijk eten bereid door lokale mama's. Ik kan je verzekeren dat deze tour het hoogtepunt van je reis in Tanzania zal zijn.

Materuni is de thuisbasis van het Chagga-volk en is nog steeds een authentiek stamdorp. Dit charmante dorp ligt op slechts 13 km afstand van de stad Moshi en grenst aan het Kilimanjaro National Park. We ontmoeten u op een afgesproken tijdstip op het Materuni Village Office. Eerst bezoekt u de Materuni-waterval, die op ongeveer 40 minuten lopen ligt. Onderweg zal uw gids u informeren over de cultuur van de Chagga-bevolking, het dorpsleven en uitleg geven over de omringende flora en fauna. De uitzichten zijn werkelijk adembenemend en met een beetje geluk zie je de top van de Kilimanjaro. Wanneer je de waterval bereikt, zul je zien dat deze ruim 80 meter hoog is. Het zwembad op de bodem van de waterval is een uitnodigende plek voor een verfrissende duik, dus vergeet je zwemkleding niet!
Koffie rondleiding Hier leer je hoe koffie wordt verbouwd, gedroogd, geroosterd en verder verwerkt. Ook wordt u uitgenodigd om te helpen bij het malen van de koffie, traditioneel begeleid door Chagga-liederen en -dansen! Het is een leuke en unieke manier om jezelf onder te dompelen in de lokale cultuur! Voordat u afscheid neemt, kunt u genieten van de koffie die u heeft gezet terwijl u geniet van het uitzicht op het omliggende bergachtige regenwoud.

Sephania was our personal guide for the waterfall tour. He was amazing and explained everything about the village and the culture. He also guided us in the traditional coffee preparation, which was fantastic! We also sang and danced all together! Highly recommended

It was an incredible, captivating experience. My guide, Anold, explained and showed me all the plants used by the tribe in detail. We found several magnificent chameleons. My dietary needs were also carefully considered. The coffee plantation tour was a dream come true. Thank you so much 🙏🏼🥹 P. S. When it rains, it gets very muddy, so it's best to bring extra shoes and a raincoat ☺️
Materuni Village Experience is situated in the most beautiful setting. It really took my breath away as I rounded the corner into the compound. I felt like I could live in this corner of the world forever! Lunch was delicious and with a wonderful view, and coffee making with the locals was great fun - it was certainly very satisfying to drink my own tasty handmade coffee! My guide for the experience was Aviti. After lunch, he took me on a short hike through the village to the waterfalls (a must see!), regaling me with stories about life in the village and patiently answering my endless questions about the vegetation and landscapes. Aviti was earnest and full of life, eager to show me his country, and it was one of the most informative and enjoyable conversations I’ve had in Tanzania. He even took the initiative to adjust our return route slightly so he could show me some of the things we had spoken about. I highly recommend him for a value-added experience!
