Je wandelt niet elke dag langs de voet van een 26 kilometer lange actieve gletsjer! Sluit je aan bij het oorspronkelijke gidsengezelschap op Matanuska, dat meer dan 30 jaar geleden is opgericht, en ervaar de ontzagwekkende schoonheid van een van Alaska's meest toegankelijke natuurwonderen te voet met NOVA's populaire Glacier Tour! Dit unieke avontuur biedt een close-up van een dynamisch, steeds evoluerend landschap. Onze Expert gidsen leiden u door de ruige eindmorene en delen hun kennis over de vorming van de regio, de natuurlijke kenmerken en de krachten die deze regio in de loop van duizenden jaren hebben gevormd. Onderweg kom je prachtige ijsformaties, grillige seracs, diepe spleten en stromende moulins tegen. Je wordt uitgerust met alle benodigde spullen en vervoerd naar het eindpunt van de gletsjer in het park. Van daaruit wandel je over de morene naar het adembenemende 'Ice Falls'-gebied, waar torenhoge ijscascades over het rotsachtige landschap vallen - echt een onvergetelijke ervaring.

It was really cool to see the glacier up close and actually walk through it - so much more impactful than just seeing it from afar! The guides were great and I learned a lot. And we lucked out with a warm sunny day (in August) and several people in our group were in short sleeves!

Fantastic tour! Military reduced rate with 2 sponsored folks. Tour guide was excellent and was patient with the slower folks as we took the 2.5 walking tour of the glacier. The website states one can walk without a guide but that’s no longer available due to folks littering and glacier destruction.

We had a great time. Be prepared to pay a park fee when you sign your waiver. Also, allow for about 3 1/2 hours to get equipment, ride to the glacier, time on the glacier and return. We had two great guides who made our experience fun, safe and educational. We highly recommend.

This tour felt other-worldly for this Florida girl. It was so surreal to traverse the glacier with our very knowledgeable guide, Maya. We loved every minute. Seeing the blue color in the ice layers and the different formations was incredible. It started out cloudy but that was perfect to see the colors in the ice. I give this tour 5+++ stars. Go do it!

What an incredible experience! Maya and Drew did a fantastic job of taking us around the glacier. They're very knowledgeable and safety conscious. There is so much more to a glacier than just snow and ice. Definitely check out Nova Alaska Guides!

It was amazing experience and strongly recommend. NOVA has good guides and they were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had great time learning about different features and activities that happens in the glacier and we loved the hike.
