Ontdek wat Melbourne drijft tijdens deze GPS-geleide wandeltocht door het bruisende CBD. Ik ben Mitch, een Melbourne local, en ik zal uw gastheer zijn voor deze mooie kleine audio uitstapje van Birrarung Marr rivier park naar Hamer Hall. Na het doorstaan van 's werelds langste lockdown, is de stad terug en beter dan ooit en ik kan niet wachten om het met je te delen terwijl we enkele van de minder bekende hoeken bekijken, waaronder Federation Square en de Block Arcade. Onderweg laat ik je kennismaken met een paar mensen die een aantal interessante feiten over de stad en hoe het is ontstaan zullen delen. Je hoort van Steve, een Gunai Kurnai man wiens voorouders de traditionele eigenaren van Naarm zijn. (Dat is Melbourne’s traditionele Aboriginal naam.) Jessica Paige, een straatbusker, zal ook een van haar prachtige liedjes met je delen. Aan het einde van deze tour kun je de stad op eigen houtje verkennen, net als elke andere Melbournite!

St Paul's Cathedral werd ontworpen door de Engelse architect William Butterfield en werd ingewijd in 1891. De torenspitsen van de kathedraal werden gebouwd tussen 1926 en 1932. De kathedraal is een populaire site voor staatsbegrafenissen waaronder die van een van Australië's meer bekende premiers, Harold Holt.
Het Australische Centrum voor het Bewegende Beeld of ACMI is het nationale museum van Australië van film, videospellen, digitale cultuur en kunst. ACMI is het meest bezochte bewegende beeldmuseum ter wereld. 1,45 miljoen mensen bezochten ACMI tijdens het boekjaar 2015-16.
Federation Square heeft een oppervlakte van 7,9 hectare en heeft een aantal instellingen en gebouwen rondom het centrum zoals het Ian Potter Center en ACMI en de Koorie Heritage Trust. Er zijn ook een aantal cafés en bars rond het plein. Een glazen paviljoen dat toegang biedt tot het ondergrondse Melbourne Visitor Centre bevindt zich op een hoek van het plein.

do not book this. I went for the tour and never received the audio or the locations. after leaving a review the company called me four times at midnight yelling at me, threatening me and calling me stupid to delete my review otherwise there will be bigger problems. not only is this unprofessional, but it is not safe and I now need to change my card information. Please be careful with this company.
The tour was challenging to negotiate. We had a good internet connection, but we found it difficult to reach the locations according to the self-guided audio tour. We gave up halfway. Also the information provided about the locations was not interesting.

During the evening it is difficult because a couple of the walk thru areas are closed. Had to find our way around.
This was an excellent and affordable way to be a tourist in Melbourne. I really enjoyed the interviews with different locals and it was easy to follow navigation wise. A great introduction to some interesting places and history. Would be great to have more tours from this producer.

Easy to follow instructions on the walk. Learnt a bit about Melbourne City and the painted alley ways.
We really enjoyed our walk through Melbourne and learning all about this beautiful city. Once we got started the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I feel like we saw all the highlights. We did struggle to find the starting location because I was under the impression we were to start at federation square. You actually start at the river below, which would have saved us a bit of walking and confusion from the start.
What a fabulous way to see and hear about Melbourne. The option to pause and look further is a great option and being able to hear the whole commentary with ease is a plus.
I love Melbourne and this tour made me love it more! Interesting stories and insights of favourite places with a fun commentary… buskers, coffee innovators and Koori heritage came to life and it even took me on a short tram ride, highly recommend ❤️
