Marrakesh Agafay Desert Camel Ride, met traditionele dinershow

We had the best time. The guide was great and everything was very well organised. An amazing experience- loved every minute and would highly recommend it to anyone.

What a beautiful experience. We booked at the last minute on 09.21.2026, I chose this agency following an internet recommendation. The team was top-notch, the meeting time was respected in front of our hotel, and the activities were great. We were treated to a dromedary ride, then a visit to an argan cooperative (with great tea, crepes, and tastings), then a gargantuan meal with traditional music and a fire show! A great time spent that was very well organized with Oma as a super guide, very friendly, smiling, and always attentive! I highly recommend it! Thank you Oma for the good mood.

In itself, the activity carried out is consistent with what was indicated. But if you are looking for an authentic excursion, idyllic landscapes, spontaneous encounters... then look elsewhere. Instead, you will be entitled to a long journey with several stops to make you buy more and more things, including the famous stop at one of the (innumerable) women's cooperatives manufacturing cosmetic products based on argan oil, sold at prohibitive prices after a forced tour of the place. Then, you will arrive at a sort of parking lot on the side of the road, where you will wait your turn to be able to get on your dromedary. The poor animals are tied to each other by a rope barely a few centimeters long. And what can I say about the ride, which lasts barely 15 minutes, photo break included. The next step will consist of an express stop by an artificial lake to take a few photos, before being taken to a restaurant where you will find a dozen other tourist vans. You will then wait for the meal to be served; in our case, it was around 8:00 PM. The food was one of the only strong points of the day. You will finally be treated to a little fire poi show, before heading back to Marrakech. Summary: a lot of transport and waiting, for not much in the end. However, it must be acknowledged that it was economical and we appreciated our guide who was kind.

Oumaima was such a kind and thoughtful tour guide. Always ensured we were having a good time and that we understood what was going on. Highly recommend !

Was really good value for what we got. Good communication with tour provider. Be prepared to take own scarf or pay for one at camels. Drinks were quite expensive. It was quite a long trip with lots of waiting around. The fire show was brilliant.

The trip to the Agafay desert, for me, was one of the classic tourist traps. The images you see online make you imagine an almost Saharan landscape, remote and spectacular. The reality is decidedly different: Agafay has very little of the “desert” as we normally imagine it and, in our case, the experience was even less impressive than expected. We arrived in an area full of different stations with camels and buggies. During the camel ride, you could easily see the main road, so you really need a certain amount of imagination to feel transported to an exotic world. Furthermore, the ride lasted about 20 minutes: I honestly expected something more. The organization didn't work particularly well either. The pickup didn't happen at the riad, as implied, but we were directed to a meeting point where we had to show up even an hour earlier than the time listed on the program. Once all the participants were gathered, we were taken to a place to drink Moroccan tea, see the preparation of amlou and argan oil, and, inevitably, be invited to buy practically everything. After the camel ride, we then arrived at a facility with a pool where, apparently, we were supposed to wait until dinner and the fire show. This stop was not indicated in the program and, honestly, I didn't like the place at all. The excursion was supposed to last about 4-5 hours, not turn into a day from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM. At that point, I was so annoyed that I preferred to call a taxi and return to Marrakech on my own, paying 200 MAD. As often happens with group excursions, moreover, much also depends on the people who end up with you. In our case, we ended up with a particularly noisy group, which certainly didn't help. If you are looking for an authentic, quiet, and truly "desert-like" experience, this is probably not the right one.

I found this experience on Facebook and booked via Viator who I’d used for a recent white water rafting trip in Wales! A huge thank you to Oumaima our tour guide and Adil our driver. Our transfer was organised by Oumaima from our hotel which was outside the company’s usual radius for a small extra cost……this was a great help to us being a group of 8. We were picked up on time and proceeded to meet up with Oumaima and pick up 6 additional passengers. The stop at the argen oil shop was great, we sampled some argen dips with bread washed down with some traditional Moroccan tea. We had a little demo of the products made and proceeded into the shop to sample an array of argan oils, creams and soaps of which my daughter and fiancée made a couple of purchases. 30 mins or so further on we arrived at the camel and quad location. We waited around 10 mins to mount our camels for a novel, relaxing and enjoyable 20 minute ride. When we finished our ride Oumaima took us straight to the food and music venue. We had a couple of hours to chill before food so we relaxed around the pool with a few drinks and chats…….no WiFi for the kids, it was great to see them chat and laugh! The food was very good, traditional tagline, chicken, cous cous, vegetables and bread, plentiful, hearty and tasty! The music was very traditional and they try very hard to get everyone dancing and clapping which was great! The fire show was mesmerizing! It was a lovely day spent with my family and would do it again……..maybe quad bikes next time or camel ride at sunset……..my one improvement would be the wooden chairs are very upright snd uncomfortable. Our host Oumaima couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great day. Thank you sooooooooo much! Xx

Great experience. The Camel ride was short but was actually just right for us as a family. Our guide Omaima, was superb and really looked after us and made sure the children had a good view of the fire show. The fire show was amazing! A great night all round.

- unannounced extra stop at an argan oil producer (cooperative) - only after a discussion did we get the camel ride during sunset (as booked), and not 2 hours earlier - pickup in a non-air-conditioned bus (though that was stated in the offer), with extremely loud music (was turned down after asking twice) - guide tried hard but had no understanding that small children cannot settle down in a minibus (screaming the whole trip) when you play loud music - opportunity to go swimming in the pool, that was great. However, that was not stated in the offer. - Our assumption is that different providers had combined their offers due to low demand, and thus they could not or would not address the specific individual experience booked, or only did so upon specific request - the camels were actually dromedaries, by the way :)
