Het symbool van Orhaniye buiten de grenzen van Turkije is het Kızkumu-strand dat vanaf het land over een ondiep pad met zijn roodachtige kleur naar de zee reikt. Dit ondiepe pad dat wordt gevormd door de deling van de baai vanaf het land als gevolg van duinbewegingen is circa 600 m lang. Het strand van Kızkumu is de laatste tijd een populaire plek geworden voor toeristische Jeep Safari-tochten. Er zijn verschillende legendes over Kızkumu die onder de lokale bevolking worden verteld. Er wordt aangenomen dat het graf van dit mooie jonge meisje zich aan het einde van Kızkumu bevindt. Deze plaats staat vanaf dat moment bekend als Kızkumu (wat 'het zand van het meisje' betekent in het Turks). Wanneer ze over dit 600 meter lange pad in zee lopen, doen de lokale bevolking en bezoekers een wens en geloven ze dat hun wensen zullen uitkomen ...
De Selale ligt tussen Bayir en Turgut. Reis 5 kilometer van Bayir richting Turgut en je ziet een bord ‘Selale’ langs de weg. Sla hier een afslag en u bereikt de ‘Selale’ door slechts 200 meter van de hoofdweg te gaan. Dit is niet de grootste of de hoogste watervallen die je ooit had gezien. Maar het is behoorlijk aantrekkelijk en biedt een koele rustplaats. De waterval van Marmaris is iets meer dan 4 meter hoog en ook smal. Het gebied rond de waterval is een brede vallei met bossen en weelderige vegetatie. Deze vallei is koeler dan de plaatsen eromheen en een opwindende plek om te bezoeken, vooral tijdens een hete zomerdag. De waterval van Marmaris heeft ijskoud water en u kunt heerlijk zwemmen in het meertje onder de waterval. Een 300 jaar oude watermolen bij de watervallen is interessant om te bezoeken.
Het dorp Bayir is beroemd om zijn historische plataan, de overblijfselen van de oude stad Syrna en de moskee. Het is heel spannend om even te pauzeren en koffie, thee of ayran (yoghurtdrank) te drinken onder de enorme plataan op het dorpsplein. In het dorp staat een historische plataan van 2300 jaar oud. Old Plane Tree is erg populair bij de reizigers. Maak een foto met de plataan en drink ayran. Volgens de legende wordt het leven verlengd als je eenmaal rond de oude plataan loopt. Dit staat ook op de identiteitsschijf van de plataan.

The vendor was dishonest regarding the tour return time and we had to leave tour on our own, missing the included lunch, in order to make it back to our ship for departure, paying for the taxi on our own. Also one of us was declined admission to the waterfalls as the driver left prior to allowing us entry. Do not recommend this vendor as he was also dishonest with Viator on the facts of the situation.

Guests who have cruise departures or strict return times are always advised to consider private options or tours with guaranteed return times. Regarding the waterfalls visit, entry is managed as a group. Leaving the vehicle or tour flow prematurely can unfortunately result in missing certain inclusions. Our driver and guide must follow the group schedule and cannot wait beyond the allocated time. We regret that you chose to leave the tour early and miss the included lunch. This decision was made independently in order to meet your ship’s departure time, and the taxi cost was therefore not part of the tour service. When you picked up you get taken to a restaurant and they try to get you to book a table with special offers …. They are friendly just go with it … Water guns wars are a good laugh you need to rent water guns @200 tl each is worth it All driver are friendly and you get a good tour around … Water fall is small and very cold Lunch was chicken , salad and bread … chips were extra 150 tl Drinks available to buy A few stop off for breaks

I thought I would give you an honest review of this tour so you know what actually happens! Whilst pick-up was prompt at 8:30 we were just driven round the corner and left in a sports bar for 30 minutes whilst we waited for something (not sure what). Bit of a waste of time. The first thing that happens is a water fight which is not even mentioned in the itinerary. If you don't want to take part, you will still get wet. This lasts about 30 minutes. You are then taken to a dodgy roadside cafe for 45 minutes for people to dry. A complete waste of time. Next stop is Jesus beach. Another 45 minutes is spent here but there is not much to do apart from have a paddle or ride a sad camel. There is no explanation of the history of this place, you are just dumped here and left to your own devices. Somebody else left a review and said this was just a glorified car-park. That sums it up perfectly. There must be nicer places to go? Next you are taken for lunch which is average (chicken skewer, rice and salad). There is no vegetarian option so my daughter had to have just rice and salad. Next we went to some watefalls. These were nice but again 45 minutes was too long to spend here. Where was the visit to the village that was mentioned in the itinerary? I suspect they don't want the jeeps visiting anymore as they all play loud music ALL of the time. I've been on many jeep tours over the years and this was by far the worst. We were bored and it gave us a bad impression of Turkey on our first day there. The jeep drivers are lovely, it's not their fault the tour is so badly organised.. You have been warned! If you want a party atmosphere then this is maybe the tour for you but if you want to see the real Turkey I would avoid this tour.

Booked this trip excepting there to be no water fights as this was not included in the 'what to expect ' section. This was purely because we didn't want to get soaked. Although we ended up participating, we had to pay extra to use the guns, however some guests did not buy them, so they got soak anyway, even though they didn't pay for the water guns. We have had a jeep safari in other parts of Turkey, and water guns were included, We visited Jesus Beach, which was quite disappointing as generally it was an oversized carpark with camels walking around the carpark. We were taken to a cafe for a stop off and drinks, and we were ushered to a shop at the back of this cafe as we could not go into the cafe to purchase drinks. Watch out for the extra costs, for example, photos. We were being quoted £40.00 which would have cost the same as the trip. We paid £8.00 in Antalaya last year,which would have been a little more acceptable as the photos would have only been a digital link.
I absolutely loved the jeep safari from the water fight to the views to the waterfalls to the beach and a lovely lunch as well. What more could you ask for in a day out! Thanks Veronika

Absolute bargain, best laugh ever!!!!! The whole team are amazing and we went to war for the water fight!!!! Drenched thru and never laughed so much....followed by music, photos, beautiful scenery, lovely people, beautiful food and staff were extremely welcoming. Very much recommend, whether a single traveller, do it! 80 yrs old, do it! Party groups, definitely do it!!!! Take a towel and change of clothes, flip-flops for jeep safari, trainers for waterfall!! Deniz & her sister taking the photos, we're so awesome! Very upbeat and got everyone involved. Ps. Take extra money for tips, snacks, souvenirs etc Best day of our holiday by miles and bought the photos too! We saw so many sites and met some lovely people, epic and won't forget! 🇹🇷 ☆☆☆☆☆
