Daun Senja: WOW. Breakfast and Cooking class with the Family. Unreal food, great tuition. Pat does it all along with you. It's like going to your friends for lunch. Highly recommended, Absolute highlight of our trip. Thanks so much Pat and Kingston for having us. Lots of laughs and food
Thanks Michael and Leigh! I'm glad you had a memorable time. It was a pleasure for us as well. Do come again if you plan to visit Malaysia again!
Me and my partner had a lovely experience. The market visit was very insightful to see how the locals live. The cooking class was very fun, interactive and delicious. We definitely recommended this tour!
Absolutely great experience with Pat at her lovely home, she was very warm and friendly. It was a birthday surprise for my wife while we were on a two week holiday. The food was top notch with the entire family getting involved and loving every minute of it. We learnt a lot about Malaysian food culture and exchanged some of our own traditions as well. An experience we will never forget, definitely one of the highlights of our vacation. We made Roti jala, Chicken curry and Kuih keria and also had a nice breakfast on the market tour. Highly recommended!
We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Pat and Kingstons beautiful home for their fantastic Malaysian cooking class. This really stood out to us as a highlight of our 2 week holiday in Malaysia. Both Pat and Kingston were so friendly and accommodating, great fun, and so knowledgeable about traditional food and local cultures - we learnt so much! We enjoyed a delicious local and traditional breakfast together, and then learnt how to made 3 amazing dishes, that we had the choice in selecting. Following Pat’s demonstrations and instructions, we made our own individual dishes which we enjoyed all together afterwards. We really recommend this activity to anyone visiting Malaysia that loves food! We wish we were here for longer to try Kingston’s other tours, with Vespaliscous. Thank you so much to you both for such a special half day!
😙😚😚☺️☺️☺️😙😙😙😙😚😚😚😚😚☺️☺️☺️☺️😚😚😙😙😙🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 From 9 AM to 1 PM, I had the amazing opportunity to learn how to cook traditional Malaysian dishes in a local home. Most cooking classes take place in studios, but this was my first time cooking in a local family's house and sharing a meal with them—it was such a unique and special experience! Before the cooking session, we went to the market together to pick fresh vegetables and ingredients, and we even enjoyed an Indian-style breakfast. Then, we got hands-on and made three authentic Malaysian dishes from scratch. The family members were incredibly kind and provided clear instructions, making it easy for beginners to follow along. After cooking, we sat down and shared the meal we had prepared. The children, who take English lessons at school, were basically fluent, while the adults spoke both English and Chinese. Since I’m more comfortable with Chinese, I switched between the two languages, making communication an interesting experience in itself! I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to immerse themselves in local culture. It’s not just about cooking—it’s about connecting with locals and experiencing their way of life firsthand. If I get the chance, I would definitely do it again!
Hi Hyeonjeong and Jiyeon! Thank you so much for your review! Just to be clear our Chinese is far from fluent. :) Anyway, you ladies were wonderful and I wish you both all the best! hugs!
Wow! This is so much more than a cooking class… Patricia and Kingston instantly made us feel welcome and gave us the most valuable experience. They shared much knowledge at the market and a delicious breakfast with us too. Patricia was calm and patient teaching us during the cookery class and all the while we chatted to Patricia and Kingston about Malaysian culture, the country, food, experiences and all things in between! We were lucky to meet their beautiful daughters too. By the end of our time we felt like we’d made new friends… thank you!
Thank you Anna! It was lovely having your family here. Your kids are wonderful children and I hope you will have many happy adventures together!
An absolutely brilliant morning spent with Patricia and Kingston, who were so friendly and knowledgeable and who welcomed us into their family home. We had breakfast at the local market, the opportunity to look round the market too and then back to theirs to prepare a delicious lunch which we ate with their family. They were very kind as our group was grandmother, mother and son, so a mix of ages. A fantastic morning and would 100% recommend! Thank you SO MUCH for having us 😀
I had a lovely morning with Pat and her family. We started out at the local markets to pick up a couple of things and taste test a delicious Indian breakfast at the market. Back to her home where we cooked side by side. Very hands on and a good way to remember how to make the dishes when I get home. Made 3 dishes which were also accompanied by some homemade dahl and a BBQ meat from the market. Thoroughly recommend this as a way to interact with a local family and learn a little about their culture through the food.
Patricia and Kingston were the best hosts and treated us like family. The market visit was really authentic and we learned a lot about local ingredients. The cooking class was interactive and we made some delicious food. Couldn’t have planned a better morning in KL, would highly recommend.
This class was such a great experience. It felt like learning and cooking together with a family friend at a way that allowed me to absorb the information. I was able to ask all the questions I wanted and was able to see how the ingredients contributed to the final dish. Cant wait to try these recipes back home! Thanks again!
