Mangrove Clear Kayak Tour

Wonderful trip and would highly recommend this to friends and family. Part education of the mangroves and got the chance to see lots of turtles, a few lemon sharks and conch. We used Island Adventures and felt the boats were high quality.

It was okay. Unenthusiastic guides... I am just here doing my job. But, ya know my phone is really important and I gotta keep checking it. Towed out to area by jet ski. Spent maybe an hour actually exploring mangroves. Saw conch, turtles, small sharks, jellyfish and a baby iguana. I already knew more about the mangrove habitat, iguanas and conchs than they told me -- but maybe because I live in Florida. And no, I am not a biologist.

Pickup and drop off was smooth and communication great. Very organized and guided were the best! Everyone is soo friendly! Do the earlier one to stay out of noon heat- bring hat or sun shirt! They may or may not provide a small dive waterproof case to put small things in .. otherwise- don’t bring a lot of stuff- you won’t need it.. just a hat and sun protection and a gratuity ! We got to see tons of sea turtles, a baby shark anf I held a live conch and live jellyfish! It’s gorgeous- don’t miss out!

They tug you out to the mangrove area for about 10 minutes and then you are in shallow waters. We did the 7:30 am tour and weather was perfect. We saw several turtles under water and a couple even popped their heads out for air. Water is very calm and still in the mangrove, easy to maneuver around even if you e never kayaked. Robert gave us some good info about everything we saw. Lasted about two hours, If you drive, there’s parking at the dock and it’s called Heaven down rock on Apple Maps, but they tell you it’s Heaving down rock in confirmation email. The kayaks are clear but not really see through because they are pretty beat up. Even if they weren’t I don’t think you would be able to see anything under you. A turtle went right under us and it just looked like a shadow below but it’s still a cool experience Oh and half way, you can get out of the kayak and take photos in shallow waters, they give you cold bottle of waters at this time. The lemon shark we saw from the kayak came around and swam near us when we were in the water but it was minding its business.

The experience was not fully as advertised. However, it was somewhat interesting especially for grandkids. The major drawback was entirely too many kayaks trying to navigate the mangroves at the same time; this was more like bumper cars. Not enough time spent getting to watch the turtles and way too much time spent standing in the water and the end of the mangrove tour. This was twenty minutes doing absolutely nothing.

Super fun experience! Our guide was very informative and engaging, and we were able to see a lot of turtles.

This was 100% worth every penny!! Our guide, Robert, was so amazing and very informative. We saw probably 20-30 turtles within the first hour and had such a great time! I would do this again in a heart beat.

It is definitely one they should do! Our guide Mikey was awesome! Told us so much about the environment.

Our guide, Benz, was terrific! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. When our van didn't show up to take us back to the hotel, he drove us back in his own car.
