Mamma Mia Cruise vanaf Skiathos Island

Beschrijving

We had booked to go on the Mamma Mia boat tour on Thursday 13th August. Pick up was great but on arrival we were told the conditions were too windy to sail, which is fair enough as we’d rather be safe. We were told to go back at 12 where we would hopefully be able to sail so went to get breakfast in the port and a walk around. Unfortunately the conditions at 12 we’re still too windy to sail so were told we could go on Sunday instead, which is fine and lucky as we’re not travelling home until Monday, but several people didn’t have this luxury. We booked back in for Sunday with the crew member and they arranged for a bus back to our pick up points which was great and arranged quickly. Later that day I had an email from the tour operator with new pick up info but for date of the 15th, not the 16th as arranged at the port. I replied within an hour to ask for confirmation (yesterday afternoon) with no reply, and have sent another 4 requests to confirm the day, still with no reply. I’ve just had to waste 20 mins calling our tour operator to ask for help, which they couldn’t give. Really not impressed with this lack of communication. I’m sure it’s a typo on the confirmation message but have no way to be sure. My 8 year old nephew is with us so we can’t get up early and wait around on the off chance tomorrow, especially when conditions are still too windy. Again I beg the tour operator to reply to my emails and confirm the date. As it stands I would not recommend, even though I did the same tour 6 years ago and was amazing. Tour company need to improve their communication.
Me and my mum booked to go on the Klaypso Mamma Mia boat months prior to our trip. We got to the boat and our names where not down on the list and they was not going to let us on. They tried to contact Visitor to check our booking and they wouldn’t answer. it was an absolute nightmare. The kind man who ended up running the trip just let us on as we was leaving the next day! Be warned by this that it possibly is a scam, I also tried to contact previously to check about weather to see if the trip was going ahead and got no response. You are better booking the trip in person on arrival to avoid any stress and potential heartache if your not lucky enough like us to get a fantastic captain who after 40m of us waiting just allowed us to get on. Another two families booked with Tripadvisor and get your guide and they also had the same issue (this is as another warning). The Kalypso boat tour was however fantastic Indefinitely recommended them as a boat company.
Really enjoyable day . Hard work walking up to the Chapel in the heat but good views. Staff really friendly and helpful . PLenty of space on the boat . . Drinks availble. I wouldn't go to the restuarant recommended - as service very slow and being on my own I felt I was overlooked . I would have chosen somewhere else entirely. Well organised.
Overall very enjoyable and good value. Beautiful seas, coastline and beaches. Friendly crew. Couple of areas that weren't great but didn't really spoil the trip - didn't go on the actual boat we booked on. We and others were put on the Barbosa, which is obviously connected, but was very full by the time we left. I'm guessing we were bumped off by a very large group of TUI guests that arrived in block and late! - probably could of done with a bit less time on the 2nd beach (3hrs) and a bit more sailing time. Overall very enjoyable though.
Really brilliant experience they play Abba music on boat from mamma Mia movie drop you off to different beaches where the film was filmed make sure you listen you need to purchase a ticket on the boat to go to chapel you will be taken by a bus but really recommend this trip
Great Girlie day out singing and dancing to great music , staff are amazing especially when they get the party started by dancing . Skopelos is beautiful . Refreshments on board good prices .The mamma mia church is a hike to the top with nothing to hold on to so wear decent shoes . Timings are good with enough time in each place . If you are lucky enough you may see dolphins like we did which just completed the experience .Good value for money x
Loved seeing the Mumma Mia! film sites - Kastani beach much nicer than expected (could have spent longer here); we opted for the trip up to the church which was so beautiful but definitely needed longer here - a lot of steep steps which some struggled with; Panormos beach overrated - hot stones unpleasant to relax on, didn’t need as long here; Milia beach ok (not convinced it’s where they filmed the ‘Does your mother know’ scene as guide claimed!). Staff lacked any kind of enthusiasm, interest/passion for the film and had very little information to share - even had to request they play ABBA songs upstairs! Overall, loved the scenes and sights but if you’re wanting a boat with more atmosphere I’d suggest booking with a different tour operator.
We pre-booked with GetYourGuide, the local 'Dolphins' coach picked us up at out hotel and whizzed us into Skiathos were we boarded the Barbarossa.. What an incredible day, all the staff on board were lovely and helpful. The places we stopped were magnificent particularly lunch at NikosTaverna on Panormos beach. We stopped at 3 beaches in total and either grabbed a drink at one of the excellent beach bars or bought one from the boat for the smaller beach. A really relaxing day and so glad we did it, my wife is the Mamma Mia fan but by the end of the day and on our incredible journey home I was foot tapping along with everyone. Highly recommended. Special mention to the young lad on the Dolphin coach,on our return journey he was approached by a lady in port who had missed her bus for the airport, although it was nothing to do with him really, he took the time to talk to her and mad a few calls to get her on her way again. An absolute gentleman in an age when a lot of folks these days just wouldn't have gone that extra mile!!!!
A fantastic trip, taking in some of the Mamma Mia filming locations, whilst listening to the Mamma Mia soundtrack! Beautiful beaches, turquoise waters and an opportunity to visit the hilltop church for an additional fee. The church visit is around 2 hrs in total - a 30 minute transfer each way in an air conditioned minibus and an hour to walk up to the church and back, which was plenty of time for us. There is a small taverna near to the church so you can grab a cold drink or snack while waiting for the transfer back to the beach. Be mindful that there are lots of steps up to the church, some of them quite steep. Also the boat lands right on the beaches and there is quite a steep ramp to get on and off the boat, but it does have handrails. We grabbed a snack from the shop behind the taverna on our return to the beach, as we weren't sure whether we would have time to eat at the taverna, (we had around an hour) but I'm sure they are used to the timings of the boat trips, so it may not have been an issue. I would definitely recommend this trip.
If you love all the songs from the film then this is must for you. We went to the chapel on skopelos where the wedding takes place. Be prepared for the steps they are very steep. The chapel is small not exactly pretty but glad I went up to it. The views are very pretty. From there we went to Skopelos town which is very pretty and lots on offer. After here we headed down the island to Mamma Mia beach the water is so blue but it is stony so take beach shoes. Great fun on board dancing and singing, drinks are not expensive on board. Fab day out.
