Terwijl u in de haven van Malta bent, kunt u dit prachtige eiland verkennen tijdens een privéexcursie langs de kust. Met je eigen chauffeur om je rond te rijden, zie je het beste van deze fantastische, wereldberoemde reisbestemming. Ontdek de hoofdstad Valletta, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed dat rijk is aan cultuur en geschiedenis. Je ziet de Upper Barrakka-tuinen en vele andere attracties terwijl je ontspant in je comfortabele privévoertuig. Je hebt ook vrije tijd om te winkelen, te eten of op eigen gelegenheid te verkennen.

Bezoek het karakteristieke vissersdorp Marsaxlokk - dobberende luzzus in de haven, kanten tafelkleden die wapperen in de wind en het dagelijkse ritueel van het herstellen van netten. Hier hebben ze wat vrije tijd om foto's te maken en rond te kijken op een kleine lokale openluchtmarkt.
Deze grote en imposante kerk werd gebouwd door vrijwillige arbeid en donaties en zou de op twee na grootste ter wereld zijn. Intern hoger dan het Pantheon in Rome en groter in diameter dan de Dome of St. Paul's in Londen. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog kwam er een grote bom door de koepel terwijl de kerk vol was, maar die ontplofte gelukkig niet.
Formeel de verblijfplaats van de grootmeester is dit nu het kantoor van de president. Het gebouw, ontworpen door Girolamo Cassar, werd voltooid in 1574. Het gebouw herbergt vele harnassen, 16e en 17e eeuwse schilderijen en fresco's.
Vanuit deze tuinen kunt u genieten van een ongeëvenaard uitzicht over een van 's werelds grootste en diepste natuurlijke havens, Grand Harbour, en over de Three Cities.

Als u per schip arriveert, moet u langs de kade en door het terminalgebouw lopen. De gids wacht op u terwijl u de terminal verlaat. Opmerking: In het onwaarschijnlijke geval dat uw schip aan land gaat in Senglea (aan de overkant van de haven vanuit Valletta), biedt het schip een gratis boottransfer naar Valletta. Neem deze shuttle en ga door het terminalgebouw volgens de normale instructies naar het ontmoetingspunt.

With limited time, our family was able to see a wonderful overview of Malta. Traveling through the entire island showed us the very different styles of architecture and landscape. The guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. Many people that only utilized the hop on, hop off bus didn't get a real flavor for this wonderful place. I especially loved the blue grotto.

May 11, 2023 Husband and I were on the ship, just outside the port, eating breakfast, waiting to leave the ship when the Breakaway's Captain announced that it was too windy and unsafe to take the ship all the way in to port, so the day was cancelled. I immediately called the tour operator to let them know that our ship would not be in so we couldn't show up for the excursion. They told me no refund because they had to "pay the guide and transportation." I was told to make a claim through my trip insurance. I did not intend to cancel, just couldn't get to the island! A refund inquiry through Tripadvisor told me that since I had only called one hour before excursion and other ships had made it into port I would not receive any money back. (Like I had any control over these factors) Be AWARE that trip insurance does NOT cover excursions unless you specifically add the cost of them to the policy, this also increases the policy cost! As I'm pretty sure our tour spots could have been filled by other ship's passengers, I don't know why my $470 had to be used to pay the guide and transportation. Disappointed not only in missing the Malta experience, but in this policy when factors are beyond your control.
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to call us when you heard the ship was not coming into port, you were the only client to do so. I am very sorry that your ship did not come into Malta and that this decision was taken at the last minute. On the rare occasions ship's do not come into port because of bad weather we would know the day before. In this case, as the weather was not so bad, and all other ships due in port had entered the harbour the cancellation was totally unexpected. Once again, we are very sorry you did not get to see Malta.

We hired a private car with driver and guide . She met us on time and the driver was good. We found the guide knowledgable but not very personable. When her mic went out shortly after our tour started she did not speak loud enough for us to hear and when problem was brought to her attention she said yes that’s a problem but did not even attempt to speak louder. Most of the time driving she did not really talk about the surroundings. Once we where stopped at different sites she did seem knowledgeable and would answer questions.
We visited Malta as part of a cruise and was able to save some money by using Viator with a private tour. Our Guide met us at the Port and began sharing very interesting information about Malta as soon as we closed the doors to the van. We were a party of six; two of us have visited Malta before, but four had not. We discussed the best places to visit with the Guide so that the four would get a good idea of what Malta has to offer. He listened to our questions and gave complete answers. As the day went on, he realized that we may be running short on time to visit the main Cathedral in Valletta, so he contacted people he knew and made sure we would be able to get in for the visit. Sure enough, we made it just in the nick of time and they were waiting on us. We appreciate the extra effort he gave our party and would book again.
This tour was great. We were on a cruise so had limited time. Julia was our guide and Lele was our driver. We quickly and efficiently moved about the island seeing the highlights. Our guide was well-versed in the rich history of Malta and ensured we saw the sights and learned some history. Medieval Medina was the highlight along with the colorful fishermen’s harbor.
Malta is a wonderful place to visit. Our guide was very nice (turn the visit to spanish - wich was VERY helpful) has a perfect knowledge of the history and culture of the island. Highly recommends that tour for people visiting the island by cruise!!!
<p>Malta trip was wonderful. We had a private van that took us all over this gorgeous island. We did some walking through a Palace and towns. Our guide was super. She was a local that knew her way around this island. I would recommend the tour for anyone.</p>
