Magische steden: Ajijic // Tlaquepaque en Chapala
Beschrijving
Tijdens deze schilderachtige tocht bezoeken we Ajijic, een pittoresk en magisch stadje met geplaveide straten, kleurrijke huizen en stedelijke kunst die het tot een topbestemming voor toeristen maken. We bewonderen de schoonheid van het meer, proeven pre-Spaanse dranken en zijn getuige van het werk van de wevers. We vervolgen onze tocht naar Chapala, waar we nog meer kunnen wandelen en handwerk kunnen kopen als u dat wilt. Tot slot eindigen we in Tlaquepaque voor de lunch en om te genieten van de kunstgalerieën en oude herenhuizen.

Reisroute
We verlaten GDL en rijden ca. 1:30 uur. Ajijic is een van de steden aan de oever van het meer van Chapala met een uitstekend klimaat. Hier maken we een wandeling langs de promenade waar we zullen praten over de geschiedenis van de plaats en de gebruiken. We gaan verder richting het centrale plein om de meest representatieve delen van de stad te zien, zoals de parochie van San Andrés, het ambachtsplein en de muur van de doden. We waren klaar en vertrokken naar Chapala.
De reis zal ongeveer 45 minuten duren. Bij aankomst beginnen we aan een wandeling en legt de gids de geschiedenis van Tlaquepaque uit, daarna bezoeken we verschillende kunstgalerijen, beginnend met Sergio Bustamante, lopen we naar de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden zoals de Tlaquepaque parián en uiteindelijk kiezen we een restaurant met de optie van mariachi of niet om deze tour door magische steden te voltooien
Na 20 minuten rijden vanaf Ajijic komen we aan in Chapala. Hier zal de gids met je praten over het belang van het meer en je een historisch overzicht geven van het grootste meer van Mexico en je vrije tijd geven om over de promenade te wandelen, waar je kunt genieten van typische hapjes en drankjes en souvenirs kunt kopen op de rommelmarkt. Ten slotte bezoeken we het cultuurhuis, het oude treinstation, waar we een tentoonstelling van pre-Spaanse voorwerpen, tijdelijke kunsttentoonstellingen en een oude locomotief zullen zien.

This was amazing! It was all day and we got to see and experience life like a local. Daniel has so much knowledge about the towns and their history as well as the people. He shares the best places to eat and get true local goods. He offers time to explore if you choose, too. It’s a must see!
The tour guide is the best. He knows everything there is to know about also the places we went. He's sincere, honest, and really goes out of his way to make you feel at home. He pays homage to the local artisans and encourages supporting the locals. He definitely shows you all the ins and outs and the secret local treasures. You'll be lucky if he's your guide.

I am so happy, and fortunate, to have had the good luck of finding Daniel for our first trip to Mexico! We enjoyed him so much on our first day trip to learn about the Guachimontones and visits to Tres Mujeres and Tequila Town that we booked a second tour with him. This time we explored the beautiful towns of Ajijic, Chapala, and Tlaquepaque. He knocked it out of the park again! We had a full day learning all about expat life in Ajijic as we walked through the beautiful town meeting locals, visiting many shops, and exploring this magical space. Daniel was very patient as we stopped and talked to different people along the way, never wanting to hurry or rush us. Next we took the short drive over to Chapala and learned more about the ecosystem of the lake, mountains, and town, as well as some of the history of The Virigin of Zapopan and the relation to Lake Chapala. Our last stop was the beautiful town of Tlaquepaque which had many shops, galleries, and restaurants. If you get the chance, have lunch or dinner at Casa Luna - it was AMAZING. The food and the atmosphere are both *chef's kiss*! If you are looking for tours in English, you cannot go wrong with Daniel. His communication during the booking process was excellent. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel which was very convenient. You can quickly tell he enjoys what he does. He is passionate about the history, culture, and people of Mexico and genuinely loves sharing this information with those in his care. I honestly feel like we've made our first friend in Mexico!!
