Ontdek Consuegra: windmolens, geschiedenis en avontuur vanuit Madrid Als u in Madrid bent en uzelf wilt onderdompelen in een bestemming vol geschiedenis en charme, dan is deze tour naar Consuegra de perfecte uitstap. U reist comfortabel in een luxe auto naar het land van de legendarische windmolens, dezelfde molens die Cervantes inspireerden in de avonturen van Don Quichot. Ons avontuur begint op het Plaza de España in Consuegra, waar u vrije tijd heeft voor het ontbijt en om de lokale sfeer op te snuiven. Daarna gaan we naar Cerro Calderico, de thuisbasis van de iconische windmolens. We leren hun geheimen, hun geschiedenis en hoe ze de tand des tijds hebben doorstaan. De ervaring wordt nog specialer als u de Rucio-molen binnenstapt, waar u ontdekt hoe deze reuzen eeuwen geleden graan omzetten in meel. We beginnen de tour in Madrid vanaf ons ontmoetingspunt.

Consuegra is meer dan een stad: het is een spreuk die je meeneemt naar een ander tijdperk, een portaal waar de windmolens niet zomaar windmolens zijn en de geest van de dolende ridder eeuwig door de bladzijden van de tijd blijft reizen.
Op de top van de heuvel Consuegra staat het indrukwekkende Castillo de la Muela, als een schildwacht van de tijd. De stenen muren, getuigen van veldslagen en legendes, herbergen de echo van zwaarden en het gefluister van de wind. Het werd gebouwd in de Andalusische tijd en versterkt door de Orde van Sint Jan. Het weerstaat de tand des tijds met dezelfde kracht als waarmee het deze gebieden beschermde. Vanaf de kantelen heeft u uitzicht over de vlakte, waar windmolens op het ritme van de geschiedenis draaien. Als je door de gangen loopt, is het alsof je terugreist naar een verleden vol ridders, veroveringen en verdedigingen. De essentie van La Mancha leeft in de stenen, waar realiteit en legende in elkaar overvloeien zoals in Don Quichot. Het Castillo de la Muela is meer dan een overblijfsel uit het verleden. Het is een brug tussen geschiedenis en verbeelding, waar de wind fluistert over prestaties en dromen. First off, my tour was switched due to low reservations. I did go to the windmills but instead went to Toledo. It was 104 F and worth it. There was only 6 of us and Alex, our tour guide, was awesome. He told us stories and facts on history of both the windmills and Toledo. Having read Don Quixote when I was a teen, this was a dream come true! Amazing and more than I could have ever imagined. And if you really try , you can still smell the horses!!! AMAZING!!! Thank tou Alex for a dream of a tour!!!
A truly breathtaking view, it is an experience not to be missed. Even though the guide only spoke Spanish, he had an automatic translator that allowed him to understand us and vice versa. He was also accommodating, and we felt comfortable.

Our tour wasn’t full enough so they moved us to a tour with a different itinerary that included Toledo, but not the castle. The tour guides were gracious enough to drop us at the castle so we still got to experience it, but our time at the windmills were a bit rushed as a result since the rest of the group needed to get to the Toledo portion of their tour which included a lunch appointment. The guide and driver were incredible, but just know that you may not get to do exactly what you sign up for when booking this tour and we found out only about a week before so not much time to regroup and find a similar alternative.

Yesid was our tour guide, and he was so gracious, patience, and knowledgeable with the Book of Don Quijote. He's detail oriented of each of the Consuegra Windmills that it took me back to my high school days when I had to read the book, only this time I understood it much better with Yesid explanation.
