Fantastic! Ella did an amazing job and was so knowledgeable about the food and history and culture of Madrid, but also the rest of Spain and how the tour brought bits of history and geography together with the whole experience. I couldn’t recommend this experience more!

We give this tour 5-stars because Trip Advisor will not allow us to give 10. Can’t say enough great things about this tour. Our guide Ella (Spain Food Sherpas) was absolutely amazing and passionate providing a deep dive into the history of culinary arts in Spain. The tour included a walking tour through the streets of Madrid stopping along the way to point out different landmarks and other items of interest we completely missed in our previous four days walking those same streets. The different places we stopped for Tapas, Wine and dessert were correctly chosen to illustrate the very points made throughout the evening. A couple things stand out about this experience. First, Ella’s willingness to share both good and bad makes her credible; her deep love for Spanish culture and tradition comes across as genuine and authentic which made the experience pleasurable; Ella making the experience interactive allowed a group of strangers to spend time together like we’d been friends forever; and finally Ella’s rapport with the establishment owners made it clear her authentic nature isn’t just appreciated by us but everyone with whom she encounters. One recommendation…do this tour early during your stay in Madrid so you can enjoy the benefits when choosing dining locations throughout the rest of your visit.
