Ontdek een van de 7 wereldwonderen, Machu Picchu, tijdens deze spannende eendaagse excursie die begint met je aankomst in de oude hoofdstad van het Inca-rijk, Cusco. Je reist door het hoge Andesgebergte en de mysterieuze nevelwouden aan boord van een trein die je naar de stad Aguas Calientes brengt. Van daaruit ga je bij aankomst in de voormalige Inca-hoofdstad naar de oude citadel om de ruïnes te verkennen met de hulp van onze professionele gids, die de geschiedenis en betekenis ervan voor de Inca's zal vertellen. Je hebt ook vrije tijd om de stad Aguas Calientes te verkennen.

Vroeg in de ochtend halen we u, zoals afgesproken, op bij uw hotel en brengen we u naar het treinstation van Ollantaytambo, vanwaar we naar Aguas Calientes gaan.
Na een reis van bijna 2 uur vanuit Ollantaytambo komen we aan bij het station Aguas Calientes, waar onze gids op je wacht met een bordje met je naam.
Daarna gaan we naar de bushalte, waar we 30 minuten en 400 meter omhoog gaan langs een zigzaggend pad om het "Historisch Heiligdom van Machu Picchu" te bereiken, ook wel bekend als de "Verloren Stad van de Inca's". Bij aankomst in de Machu Picchu citadel beginnen we aan de rondleiding, begeleid door onze gids. Gedurende ongeveer 2 uur en 30 minuten bezoeken we de belangrijkste sites in Machu Picchu.
Na de rondleiding keren we terug naar het stadje Aguas Calientes, waar u kunt genieten van uw lunch in een van de vele restaurants of, als u dat liever heeft, in de Sanctuary Lodge (lunch op eigen gelegenheid). In de late namiddag nemen we de trein terug naar Ollantaytambo, langs dezelfde route als op de heenweg.

Our experience with Peru Grand Travel throughout the trip through Peru was impeccable. All the activities were very well organized and we didn't have to worry about anything, just to enjoy the beautiful landscapes. We made the tour to Machu Picchu and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The guide demonstrated an impressive knowledge, explaining the history and details of the place in a clear and engaging way, which made all the difference in the visit.
