Eenmaal aangekomen in Machu Picchu krijgen we een rondleiding van ongeveer 3 uur. We lopen 15 minuten bergopwaarts naar het hoogste en beste uitkijkpunt van de Inca-citadel, vanaf die plek nemen we alle beroemde ansichtkaartfoto's van Nat Geo van jou en je dierbaren. Dan hebben we een interessante uitleg over Machu Picchu. We laten je oude foto's zien van de ontdekking van Machu Picchu en we verkennen de citadel van hoek tot hoek. Je krijgt een rondleiding door het landbouwgebied van Machu Picchu, de belangrijkste tempels en altaren, het huis van de keizer, de zonnewijzer van Intiwatana, het koninklijke mausoleum, de tempel van de drie ramen, de festivalpleinen, de heilige rots en de tempel van de condor. Uiteindelijk vertrekken we in Aguas Calientes.
Vanuit Machu Picchu hebben we de grote kans om de grote berg Huayna Picchu te observeren

Ericwas a fantastic guide. He was on time to pick us up from the hotel in Aguas Calientes. He explained everything at Machu Pichu in detail. And to top it all, he took some fantastic photos that we'll cherish. I would absolutely recommend Eric to anyone.
The tour was very good, the guide passionate and informative. The meeting point was at the entry gate, which in hindsight is a mistake, since there is no cellular coverage there. We waited for 20 minutes and started to get anxious.
Julio is an extraordinarily knowledgeable guide. He will talk to you about the history and magic of the Machu Picchu sanctuary, as well as those unexpected historical details that rarely appear in tourist brochures.
We booked a private tour for our trip to Machu Picchu. Our guide Frank was wonderful. Peruvian history is his passion and he shared that throughout the tour. He answered our questions, went at a pace that kept in mind our acclimation to the altitude and kept my 13 year old daughter engaged, which is not easy. I would recommend Frank to anyone going to MP and wanting a unique and insightful experience.
