Er zijn veel tempels en heiligdommen met een lange geschiedenis en interessante kenmerken in Asakusa waar de gemeenschappelijke cultuur van Edo bloeide. Men geloofde dat aangezien de zeven rampen zouden worden geëlimineerd door heiligdommen te bezoeken waar de zeven goden waren vastgelegd, en dat bezoekers zeven geluk zouden ontvangen. Zelfs in Japan is het bezoeken van tempels en heiligdommen een geheime hausse. Bij elk heiligdom kun je een rode stempel krijgen als teken van aanbidding, zodat je kunt genieten van het verzamelen van rode stempels. Deze aantrekkelijkheid is populair geworden en trekt de aandacht van jongeren. Tijdens deze tour ga je rond Asakusa en bezoek je zeven heiligdommen. Je kunt niet alleen de Sensoji zien, maar ook de stille en kalme stad!

Matsuchiyama Shoden: Dit is een tempel die bekend staat om zijn gezondheid, goede relaties en huwelijksrelaties, en vertegenwoordigt het welvarende bedrijf. Van de zeven goden van geluk is "Bishamonten", de god die geluk en moed geeft, verankerd.
Imado-schrijn: Dit heiligdom is beroemd als de geboorteplaats van Maneki Neko, en er zijn overal Maneki Neko! Het is een heiligdom waar veel vrouwelijke aanbidders het geluk hebben om te trouwen. Onder de zeven godheden van geluk, de godheid van geluk, bezit en gezondheid, is "Fukurokuju" vastgelegd.
Hashibafudo-son: Een kleine, eenvoudige tempel waar je de schoonheid van de bouwstijl uit de Edo-periode kunt voelen. Onder de zeven goden van geluk, is "Hotei-son", de godheid van geluk en geluk, vastgelegd.
Ishihama Saryo Raku: Dit is een restaurant op het terrein van het Ishihama-heiligdom. Het restaurant heeft een open ruimte met een grote verscheidenheid aan menu-items, waaronder zoetigheden zoals tempura bowl, soba en dango. Otori-schrijn: Dit is een schrijn met een prachtige en grote hark, die beroemd is vanwege de "Rooster Market" waar de geluksharken worden verkocht. Het symbool is het masker dat wordt gebruikt in de Japanse Noh, "Okame-san". Laten we de gigantische schildpad aaien! Onder de zeven goden van geluk is de God van een goede gezondheid en een lang leven, de "Jurojin", verankerd.
Asakusa-schrijn: Asakusa-schrijn, die een diepe relatie heeft met de beroemde bezienswaardigheid "Sensoji-tempel", is gewijd aan "Ebisu", een van de zeven geluksgoden van geluk en geluk. Dit is het heiligdom waar de drie grote festivals in Tokio worden gehouden.
Sensoji-tempel: het is de oudste tempel in Tokio met een grote rode lantaarn die een symbool is van Asakusa. We met Nanako at Asasuka Station and she was very pleasant and helpful. She advised us to buy whatever beverages or snacks we may need for the tour and then outlined the itinerary for visiting the shrines and temples. Before setting off, she advised that we have lunch at the mall area near the last shrine. We visited the shrines and at the first one, she suggested that we buy a card that could be stamped at each location and that would be our souvenir of the trip, which is great! At one point, she suggested that we take a taxi to the last area because of the rain and the buses do not operate that regularly. Upon exiting the taxi, she paid the full amount without asking for any money, which I did not expect. After reaching the final area, Nanako asked us what we would like to eat and we decided on Ramen and she took us to this lovely restaurant where the food was delicious! In general, Nanako went above and beyond in her customer service and treated us so well we were very impressed with her and would now consider her a friend.

Kazumi was our guide for our tour. She led us to some wonderful spots for the best views of Tokyo Tower and even helped us with taking some lovely photos of us! She did well with giving us history about the locations we visited and was very flexible with adjusting the tour route to our requests.

Went on a well-paced tour with Nobu-San. The walk began at the iconic Kaminarimon Gate, which was an impressive sight to behold and we were explained the history, and the significance of the gate to the shrine. After which, we proceeded down Nakamise Street, which is now bustling again (the entire street closed down during covid times) with traditional Japanese shops selling souvenirs, snacks, and local delicacies. We also had the opportunity to eat the famous waffle ice-cream. Just before entering the main hall of Asakusa Shrine, we learned about the etiquette of entering the shrine, the meaning of each action, and the religion. As we didn’t stop for lunch, we had the time to visit Kappabashi, the famous kitchen street in Tokyo. It’s right next to Asakusa and is just a 15 mins walk away. Self restraint is tough here. I wanted to buy everything here. 🤣🤣 Overall, the morning tour of Asakusa Shrine was a fantastic way to learn about a part of the history and culture of Tokyo.

We had an awesome experience on our visit to the Shrines and Temples of Asakusa visiting the 7 deities for good fortune. Our tour guide ( Tom Harada) was very knowledgeable, kind, and patient taking care of our needs. We likewise had a great lunch with a taste of authentic home cooked Japanese foods in a " hole in the wall" eatery. Witnessed the chanting and ceremony at the Senso-ji temple / Daikokuten for blessings in business/ agriculture followed by a stroll on Nakamise-dori street( a shopping paradise for souvenirs ) plus a unique way to taste different foods.

Our tour guide for the day was Eric. He took us on the tour of the 7 Temples & Shrines. He was extremely knowledgeable and had lots of wonderful little nuggets of information about each site. He was well spoken and conversed easily with us in English. I appreciate the fact that he took us to some cafe’s and shops not on the tour but which he thought we might find of interest. I would highly recommend this tour and Eric as your guide
