Beschrijving
we creëerden een unieke ervaring over de kunst van sieraden! Door de ring te maken, leer je hoe smaragden de belangrijkste en meest kostbare steen worden voor Colombianen, en de invloed ervan in de Colombiaanse samenleving en economie. This probably should be listed as more than 5 hours, but it was very fun! Emeralds are very occluded/small for the included price, but you pay for the experience. Our guide, Nick, was incredible!!!
The time of the experience depends on the design of your ring. The average time is 3 hours. If the ring has more the one emerald and involves more detailed work than usual it will take longer like yours. Every ring is unique
This is such a fun and unique experience! Not only you can learn about the history and the culture of emerald in Colombia, but also you can make your own ring (obviously with the help of professional jewelers). This is such a unique souvenir from Colombia and I will cherish that forever!
If you don't speak Spanish, don't worry the English instructions were very good! You get a lot of hands on experience making your own ring. It is a lot of fun!
This was such a fun and knowledgeable experience. I loved the entire process from choosing your emerald, to creating a design, and to the actual process of making the ring. Juan was amazing and fun.
On the way to the workshop, you learn many interesting things about emeralds in Colombia. The workshop itself is a lot of fun, and you are well guided. For difficult tasks, you also receive help, or the tasks can be taken over (upon request), so that the ring looks good in the end. The stones included in the price are, of course, very small. You can choose between these, or medium-sized ones for an additional cost of just over 300,000 pesos and large ones for just over 500,000 pesos.
What a great experience. Nick the guide was excellent and the whole ring making process was extremely interesting. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone that is visiting Columbia. Thanks again for a truly great experience!
One of the most beautiful experiences of my life and, without a doubt, one of the best I have experienced in Colombia. I do not give this beautiful activity 5 stars, but 100 stars. I also give 100 stars to the guide Nick for his dynamism and excellent attention, and to the owner of the jewelry workshop for the thoughtful details and the special treatment he has with his customers. This is one of the coolest experiences I've done in Bogotá over the last 16 years of visiting. I never had much interest in buying an emerald, but making your own emerald ring was a great way to spend three hours. Not only did we learn about the history of emeralds in Colombia, but we also came to appreciate the art of crafting custom jewelry. We were guided along the way with true artists in the business who helped us turn an idea into one of the most memorable souvenirs we've brought home from Colombia. The emeralds aren't the highest quality, but they are indeed genuine. It's worth paying a little extra money for a larger or higher quality stone than the one included in the tour price. Thanks Nick for guiding the experience.
A great experience, the people were very attentive and willing to help, guiding the best tours. The city has many trees, typical traffic of a capital city. Public transportation is accessible and sufficient.
I'm so grateful I found this experience! It was such a unique activity. Nick was a great guide who shared lots of knowledge about Colombia's emerald industry and was also very charismatic and easygoing. Once we got to the shop, we worked with master jeweler Carlos Chavez and Nick to craft a one-of-a-kind ring. This was definitely one of the most memorable experiences I've had and I hope to come back again!
