Een Engels sprekende chauffeur haalt u net buiten uw cruiseschip op in een luxe voertuig en brengt u naar de Eeuwige Stad. Rome's meest iconische fontein is een wonder om te aanschouwen. De Trevifontein, 26 meter hoog, 49 meter breed en ingewikkeld ingericht in de barokstijl, is een onmisbaar gezicht in de stad. Gebouwd op de top van een oude waterbron.
Wandel over het prachtige Piazza Navona, een meesterwerk van barokke elegantie en een van de meest levendige pleinen van Rome. Bewonder de adembenemende Fontein van de Vier Rivieren, ontworpen door het genie van Gian Lorenzo Bernini, samen met de historische paleizen en levendige sfeer van het plein. Oorspronkelijk bezet door moerassen, werd het Forum gebied heroverd door een van de eerste stadswerken van het oude Rome: de Cloaca Maxima, een groot waterafvoersysteem, dus uiteindelijk was er niets anders over dan een vijver, de lacus Curtius
is een triomfboog in Rome, gelegen tussen het Colosseum en de Palatijnse heuvel. Het werd opgericht door de Romeinse senaat om de overwinning van Constantijn I op Maxentius te herdenken tijdens de slag om de Milvian-brug in 312

We had a great driver, Giorgio (George). He was very accommodating and a safe driver. He provided information about the sites we visited (via prerecorded commentary). The only reservation I had was about not being able to enter the Vatican or Coliseum. I didn’t know we needed to pay an additional fee for admission. However we marveled at the beauty and richness of the ancient architectural designs.

Our driver Simon was very flexible and gave us just the right amount of time at each part of Rome that we wanted to visit with our kids. He was very prompt, and the van was always exactly where he said he would meet us. Simon gave us interesting background information but also let us relax on the drive to/from Civitavecchia.

Toured all the main sites in Rome from the comfort of a spacious mini van. Temperatures were 40+ so the aircon was appreciated. Great guide with lots of information.

Our captain, Claudio, is a native to the island and a pro on deck. Watched our headcount of 5 and another couple the entire time to ensure our safety and satisfaction. We didn’t use the facilities or the cabin so can’t speak for them, but boat deck was tidy and appointed. Will consider again if we ever return. Thank you!
We booked 3 different independent shore excursion private tours in 3 ports. This one ended up being our favorite. We ended up with a tour guide (Kate) and a driver when we were expecting only a driver. After discussing with us what our priorities were, they were able to prepare an awesome itinerary that required minimal walking in the super hot weather, while allowing us to see many sites. It seems they may outsource to other vendors, so it's probably by luck who we got.

Our driver and guide, Emanuele, was exceptionally attentive and accommodating. Long before we arrived at Rome’s iconic landmarks, he set the mood with an incredible playlist that matched the grandeur of the city. He enriched our tour with fascinating cultural insights, took us to the best panoramic viewpoints, and so much more. Traveling with my mom in a wheelchair can be challenging, but Emanuele went above and beyond—frequently lending a helping hand and guiding us through accessible routes. In just 5 hours, we saw the Colosseum, St. Peter’s Square and Basilica, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Gianicolo Hill view, ending with a relaxing lunch in Campo de' Fiori. A fun fact we learned from him: ROMA spelled backward is AMOR (“love” in Italian)—and we certainly fell in love with Rome thanks to him!
