Er zijn verschillende prijsplannen voor deze privétour, afhankelijk van de insluitsels en de ophaalstad. Ophalen om 05.00 uur. Rijd zuidwaarts langs lokale dorpen richting Aswan, Aboe Simbel. 3000 jaar geleden bouwde Ramses II deze monumentale tempels voor zichzelf en zijn geliefde vrouw Nefertari. De muren zijn versierd met scènes van zijn overwinning in de Slag bij Kadesh. De façade van de Grote Tempel is 35 meter hoog en 30 meter lang. De kleinere tempel is gewijd aan Nefertari, afgebeeld als de godinnen Isis en Hathor. Van 1964 tot 1968 heeft UNESCO de verhuizing van beide tempels naar een plateau op de kliffen geïnitieerd om ze tegen overstromingen te beschermen. De tempels werden gedemonteerd, 60 meter de klif op verplaatst waar ze oorspronkelijk op stonden en weer in elkaar gezet. Nadat je naar deze Nubische monumenten hebt gekeken, lunch je en wordt je teruggebracht naar je hotel in Luxor (22.00 uur). Een absolute must-see in Egypte is het prachtige tempelcomplex van Abu Simbel, 3000 jaar geleden in opdracht van Ramses II voor zichzelf en zijn geliefde vrouw Nefertari. De indrukwekkende gebouwen herdenken zijn overwinning in de Slag om Kardesh en ze waren bedoeld om indruk te maken op zijn vijanden in het zuiden. De gevel van de Grote Tempel is 35 meter hoog en 30 meter lang. De grote tempel werd gebouwd op de positie van de zon. Op 22 februari en 22 oktober dringt zonlicht 55 meter door in het binnenste heiligdom om 3 van de beelden aan de achterwand te verlichten. Alleen het 4e standbeeld van Ptah, de god van de onderwereld, blijft het hele jaar door in duisternis. De kleinere tempel is volledig gewijd aan Nefertari en haar wordt gekroond als de godinnen Isis en Hathor. Van 1964-1968 startte UNESCO een initiatief om zowel de Grote Tempel als de Kleine Tempel naar een plateau op de kliffen te verplaatsen om hen te beschermen tegen overstromingen. De tempels werden gedemonteerd, 60 meter omhoog de zandstenen klif waar ze oorspronkelijk op stonden, verplaatst en vervolgens weer in elkaar gezet. In de buurt van de herbouwde tempels staat nu een door de mens gemaakte koepel, waarin een tentoonstelling van foto's staat, waarin de hele verhuizing wordt beschreven.

Fantastic day trips to Abu Simbel and Edfu/Isis temples. The amazing guide Mohammad is very knowledgeable, always trying to make sure our trip safe and peace.. Always make us comfortable and happy during the trip. He arranged the trip plan to fulfill all the requests we had. We requested to stay at the temple longer than scheduled, that made our trip finished late than planned. However The professional driver Khaled, he drove us in safe the whole day of two trips till really late time to make sure we arrived back to the hotel in safe. Very satisfying experience from the booking , arrangement and the touring. That’s why we decided to add Edfu/Isis tour with them right just after the day of Abu Simbel tour. Strongly recommended for friends, families trips!!!

It’s definitely a long day, but it was worth it. Abu Simbel was amazing, and our guide, Adam, was so knowledgeable and excited to share with us. He was also a great photographer! We ended up with some time because Abu Simbel was practically empty this time of year, so he was willing to add a quick stop in Aswan to see the unfinished obelisk and take a boat up the Nile for some tea in one of the local Nubian villages. Lunch outside Abu Simbel was delicious, as well. The communication with company before the tour was amazing—Amina was so helpful and willing to answer questions. We were hesitant because this tour didn’t have a lot of reviews on Viator when we booked, but it was one of our best days in Egypt. We loved every second of it and would highly suggest it!

The tour worked for the allotted time we had. And it was nice they dropped us off at Aswan airport. And nice experience to see Abu Simbel. What would have made the journey better would have been a Wi-Fi hotspot in the car. Otherwise long drive with limited tour at Abu Simbel. But like I said it worked for our needs.

The 1 day tour is a perfect way to visit Abu Simbel from Luxor if you do not wish to stay overnight somewhere. It includes a lot of sitting in the car but there are a few stops on the way and plenty of time in the destination. The pick up from the hotel worked well. The guide Hadeer and the driver were very nice people and kept making sure that everything was okay. I am especially pleased with the booking experience including very clear instructions about payment and time schedule etc. This is a safe way to explore one of the major attractions of ancient Egypt. Highly recommended.

The best money I spent. The guide Kamal and the driver Abdalla were very polite and provided great hospitality. We felt secure from pick up to drop off, in fact they went out of their way to take me and my husband to buy a charger. The driver was on top of making us feel good providing water, refreshment mango juice and fruits( the best dates I ever tried in my life). The only thing that made me feel bad for them was how they have to hustle and how they get extortion by the police. These guys work very hard, but I guess is the system. Our guide explained everything well and allowed us plenty of free time. To be honest we were hesitant wether to book this trip or not since is new in Viator, but I can assure you’ll have the time of your life. Car is comfortable too, we are tall , 6 feet and 6.02 and we fitted perfectly. Also , shout out to the sweetest Dutch operator you can find, Amina, very resourceful and helpful. Also, don’t get scared if when driving to Abu Simbel you encounter many police check points, is normal and the driver/ guide will explain what to do.

One of the best outings ever. Our guide Hossam explained everything about the construction and the relocation of the temples. Lake Nasser had an amazing view but the best part was watching the sunrise in the desert.
