Jamaica is een van de vier plaatsen ter wereld met een lichtgevende lagune, ook wel glinsterende wateren genoemd. Het water gloeit 's nachts wanneer het stoort. Dit wordt veroorzaakt door levende microscopische organismen in het water. Deze lagune is de grootste, gloeit het hele jaar door en het gloeit het helderst. NB: Dit is alleen voor het vervoer van en naar de attractie, als je eenmaal ter plaatse bent, zal er een entree van $ 25 per persoon voor de tour zijn.

De tour begint met een korte boottocht naar de lagune, die ongeveer 6 tot 8 voet diep is, je zult ongeveer 45 minuten kunnen zwemmen en foto's maken, wanneer je terug aan wal bent, zul je je vermaken met een korte vuurshow.

Unbelievable experience in the Luminous Lagoon. The waters were so warm, even at night and the boat captains were a lot of fun and full of knowledge. Our driver Demar was excellent - very friendly and arrived to collect us early from our hotel, so we started the trip with no stress. He was easy to chat to and imparted lots of local knowledge along the way. Definitely recommend

Although the trip from Negril was quite long it was worth it. Captain was knowledgeable and explained the unique circumstances that allowed the organisms to grow in that bay. The photographer took amazing pictures and was worth the modest $25 cist

Demar was fantastic! Shared a few tourist facts on the way and didn’t rush us at all. We got to take our time at the lagoon and we made it back to our resort in Negril getting through all the traffic and winding roads. Thankfull we had someone to entertain and drive us!

Our TaxiDriver was great, although it is almost too far from Negril, (traffic jam on the way and very bad road conditions) but unfortunately the water did not sparkle that evening.

I had the most amazing time both getting to and then experiencing the Luminous Lagoon. My host and driver, Damar of DG Transportation, was very knowledgeable about the area and graciously shared his insights, which made the trip there and back to Negril quite enjoyable. As we waited for our turn on the boat, I was enthralled with the Fire Dancer, who put on quite a show. The boat captian for the lagoon tour was also informative and entertaining. The capitan told us how the lagoon was formed and what made it glow. He also patiently assisted the swimmers into the water and Damar graciously photographed the experience. The sight of the blue waters below me as I swam were breathtaking and quite magical. All-in-all, it was a wonderful experience.

This experience was AMAZING. Demar was a great guide who ended being my great friend. He was very nice and told me a lot about Jamaican culture. The trip from Negril to the lagoon felt so short cause we had plenty to talk about. The experience in the lagoon was one of a kind. I felt like a swimming star, shining in the water! It was so special. Esta experiencia fue INCREÍBLE. Demás fue un excelente guía quien terminó siendo un gran amigo. Me platicó mucho sobre la cultura jamaiquina que el viaje desde Negril se sintió súper cortito por todo lo que íbamos platicando. En la Laguna la experiencia fue única.
