Mak was extremely friendly and very accommodating towards everyone in our group. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and his knowledge was extensive - not just of Bosnian history but also of many other subjects. He was very welcoming, energetic & had a wonderful way of connecting with our entire party. We had an amazing time with him and would highly recommend this tour especially with Mak. The tour itself was spectacular, with fantastic views & interesting history - the village of Lukomir was brilliant to explore. Thank you so much, it was definitely worth what we paid and more.
We had a great time on this excursion up to Lukomir. Our guide, Mak, was flexible and open to answering all of our questions! He was informative and very generous with sharing his insights, stories, and perspectives on life in Sarajevo. It was one of the highlights of our trip - if you enjoy a moderate mountain hike and breathtaking views with great company, try this out!
After doing a nice tour with art and travel, we decided to book another tour and they suggested us to see Lukomir. I am very surprised with the nature in Bosnia and did not expect how beautiful the country is. The tracks while hiking are good and views are incredible, you don't need to be in super shape to do it, but it was a good exercise for us. The village is very special and the food was also tasty. Our guide was Edi and he was asking if we are tired, do we need rest, so no rush at all. We recommend to every person that wants to see the country side and mountains of Sarajevo.
Dear Maria, we deeply appreciate your 5-star review. We are so glad to hear that you loved our service and effort. Hope you will enjoy the rest of your trip. Sincerely, Art and Tours Sarajevo
If you love hiking and nature, this is an excellent tour to consider. Our journey was perfect in every aspect. We like the path, nature, food, hospitality and our guide Ivan. Amazing weather was following us all the time. Would definitely recommend!
Dear Richard, thank you very much for your beautiful review and effort. We are more than thrilled reading it. We wish you a pleasant stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sincerely, Art and Tours Sarajevo
I went on the hiking trip to Lukomir village. I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with Mak and found his knowledge was incredible. Mak has a great way of making conversation and motivating you while on the hike. Mak took into consideration the fact I was fasting while on the hike and scheduled rest breaks. He also provided us a lot of advice about where to open our fast for Iftar. The hike itself was incredible with stunning views of Sarajevo, I would highly recommend everyone to go on this hike, it really displays the beauty of the Balkans. I wish Mak the best with everything and definitely look forward to touring with Arts and Tours again in the future.
Dear Zak, we are very happy by reading your comment. We really appreciate it! Thank you for choosing us and being our guest. Take care and all the best to you. Sincerely, Art and Tours Sarajevo
We had a great time in the Bosnian mountains trekking to Lukomir. The transport was without any troubles and our guide Mak told us some interesting facts about the region bordering on Herzegovina and the mountain village. We enjoyed a nice meal in the village, checked out the nearby vista and had a relaxing way back to Sarajevo. If you enjoy an easy trek in a beautiful landscape, you will enjoy this tour!
Dear guest, this review made our day! We appreciate so much your effort and time for writing this amazing review! Sincerely, Art and Tours Sarajevo
The views on this tour are fantastic, on one side are wide open alpine meadows and on the other is a deep canyon. The village itself is a gem, it looks and smells like a mountain village that herds sheep and does small farms. We had their famous barak as we rested from the hike. Rain was predicted so the tour company. altered the trip to be a road trip instead of a hike. However when we got close to Lukomire the weather was good enough to hike so Bakir, my guide, let me off about 7KM for the village and I got to hike to it. Afterwards we hiked for about an hour and a half in the other direction, so despite the prediction of rain I got a good hike in. The only downside was a long ride on a rather bad road which isolates the village. I am not complaining, if there was a paved road the village wouldn't be what it is.
Absolutely one of the highlights of an 18-day Balkan trip! I took on the challenge of completing this trek, and it was made more enjoyable with Mak and Ken! Mak was knowledgeable about the history of his beloved city and did so clearly and concisely. He was eager to share with our group, and could observe his passion. He was pretty personable and an overall great person, I would recommend this tour, and if you connect with Mak and Ken, you will not be disappointed! The food was terrific, and they were right, do not try burek after having the one in Lukomir!
Mak and Kenan were amazing guides and so much fun! The trek to Lukomir was absolutely amazing with incredible views and lunch was delicious. I can’t recommend enough!
Initially, it was unclear whether the tour would make any sense because of the weather. The agency had not insisted on implementation and offered us a refund. We took the “risk” and were fully rewarded! Once at the top, it had gradually cleared up, but the landscape is so varied and of overwhelming beauty that - assuming weatherproof clothing - you would have gotten your money's worth even in the rain. Spectacular canyons, stony mountain peaks, forests and pristine plains covered with a carpet of grasses and flowers. In addition to various birds and unique plants. Pure nature! Although the tour is rather easy (few climbs) to walk on (our guide was on the road with sneakers) we would prefer sturdy footwear. Sticks are not absolutely necessary (although the agency holds some if necessary), but we feel better with them. By the way, our guide Kenan had come up with alternatives in case we had no luck with the weather. He is very nice and accommodating and knows well. His English is excellent! Really highly recommended in all aspects!
