Nationaal park Cahuita: De Jungle Trail op Cahuita National Park: De Trail biedt 2 kilometer trektocht door een secundair bos met prachtige landschappen, diverse flora en fauna, en inclusief veel mogelijkheden om de opmerkelijk fascinerende verschillende kikkersoorten van Costa Rica te zien, bijvoorbeeld de rode dartkikker (dendrobates pumilio), brulapen, witgezichtaap, de twee soorten luiaards en meer! Binnen het pad, tussen de overvloedige fauna, kunnen bezoekers getuige zijn van de 3 tenenluiaards en de verschillende soorten vogels zien: Toekans, oropendolas, Tanagers, Kolibries, kiskadees, en nog veel meer, eekhoorns, en de majestueuze vlinders die zwermen door het pad.

Tijdens uw reis biedt uw gids een introductie tot Costa Rica, zijn diverse geografie, culturele wortels en ontwikkeling als een vredig, natuurgericht land. Je vindt er geweldige cadeau-ideeën, waaronder magneten, houtsnijwerk en zakken Costa Rica's beroemde koffie van hoge kwaliteit, wereldwijd bekend om zijn zachte smaak en rijke aroma.
Een van de hoogtepunten van deze tour is een bezoek aan een speciaal reddingscentrum gericht op het behoud van luiaards. Besteed tijd aan het observeren van deze fascinerende wezens van dichtbij terwijl je leert over het belangrijke werk dat het reservaat doet om luiaards en hun natuurlijke habitat te beschermen. Dit schilderachtige pad van 2 kilometer neemt je mee op een begeleide wandeling door weelderig secundair bos en biedt de kans om de rijke biodiversiteit van Costa Rica van dichtbij te ervaren. Onderweg geniet u van prachtige landschappen en een verscheidenheid aan tropische flora en fauna. Het pad is vooral bekend om zijn kikkersoorten, waaronder de opvallende rode pijlgifkikker (Oophaga pumilio), evenals gemeenschappelijke waarnemingen van brulapen, witkopkapucijnen en beide soorten Costa Ricaanse luiaards (twee- en drietenen). Vogelliefhebbers kunnen toekans, oropendolas, tanagers, kolibries, grote kiskadees en meer spotten. Eekhoorns, vlinders en andere fascinerende wezens vullen ook dit levendige ecosysteem.
We stoppen bij een ontspannen lokaal restaurant waar je de gelegenheid hebt om te genieten van een heerlijke Caribische lunch. Probeer traditionele gerechten zoals kokosrijst en bonen, gegrilde vis met limoen, kip in rijke Caribische saus of knapperige patacones, allemaal bereid met regionale smaken. Combineer je maaltijd met een vers vruchtensap of een koud lokaal biertje. Let op: lunch is niet inbegrepen in de tourprijs, en deze stop is optioneel.

Uw tour begint binnen in de pier, waar onze gidsen op u wachten met een bord met uw naam. Kijk voor onze rode shirts voor gemakkelijke identificatie. We bieden pick-up direct binnen de pier, dus er is geen noodzaak om buiten de faciliteiten te lopen. Timing: Tours worden gepland 30 minuten nadat uw schip is aangemeerd, waarbij de vroegste tour om 8:00 uur begint. Als de beste lokale touroperator garanderen wij uw terugkeer naar het cruiseschip

Our tour guide (Jaret) and driver were excellent. They took us to the Jaguar Rescue Center and it was wonderful. We saw a lot of animals and learned a lot. Then we went to Cahuita National Park. It was lovely and restful. Our only complaint was that we did not go to the sloth conservation center. The title of the excursion is “Sloth and Limon Highlights” and it says we go to the conservation center. We took this excursion because we wanted to see sloths so we were disappointed.

We loved our tour! Rosa was amazing she is very knowledgable. We went to the Jaguar / Sloth sanctuary and for a walk in the Cahita nature reserve. We saw lots of wild animals including cappuccin monkeys, sloths, a viper and more. We went to a small plantation then where they grow bananas and pineapples. Small mini bus was like new, air conditioning excellent and water was given throughout the trip

Our tour guide, Kim, was pleasant and informative. She kept us on schedule and made sure we saw everything included in our tour. I didn't know a tour guide could be so nice. When we were in the national park, Kim shared with other tour guides the best places to view animals. Some other tour guides we passed didn't say anything and looked like they didn't want to be bothered. One of the travelers on our tour had trouble walking and Kim was very accommodating. We traveled in an air conditioned van with free wifi. Our driver Fabian, made sure we arrived safely but quickly. I loved being on a small tour with only 4 people. Kim made sure to deliver us back to our cruise ship half an hour before boarding. We were happy to have such a great experience and we'll definitely book again with our next tour along our cruise.

It starts with an hour drive to an animal sanctuary. Then you listen to an entitled American volunteer speak about 10 animals for 1.5 hours. After that you will stroll down a path between some trees, they call it the rainforest. There are about 100 other tourists alongside you, good luck seeing an animal. Finally the stop to rip you off at a souvenir shop. Gifts are at least 30% higher than cruise port or sanctuary. The only reason I gave this any stars was because our tour guide was the best I’ve ever had. It’s not the guides fault they work for such a poor itinerary, everyone needs a job.

Our guide Paul, gave us a very VIP treatment…we visited the Jaguar Rescue Center instead of the sloth sanctuary as stated in the description, and it was AMAZING! I highly recommend this organized, air conditioned, personal tour!!

We toured the banana plantation, fruit plantation where we got to see cocoa beans before they are fermented, try fresh sugar cane and so many other fruits, we went to the fruit market and super market, took a boat ride to see sloths, snakes, birds and baby crocodiles. It was a great experience and we even made it back to the ship with an hour to spare. Ana was a great tour guide, her energy is contagious and she was enjoyable. The tour was cheaper than the other options at the tour exit.

It was raining and we were soaked by the time we got from the ship to where Fia was. We went in the shop looked around and caught Fia and said we would like to go on her tour. Gigi was our driver. They were both very friendly. Fia was very informative and shared the information in a way that it was captivating and fun.
