Gegarandeerde observatie van luiaards, een van de meest karakteristieke dieren van Costa Rica. Naast de grote diversiteit aan opvallende vogelsoorten, kun je ook insecten, zoogdieren en kleine reptielen bekijken.

De luiaard is een van de meest emblematische dieren van de Costa Ricaanse fauna. Deze kleine en vriendelijke wezens zijn lief en mooi en zien er altijd gelukkig uit, met een eeuwige glimlach op hun gezicht. We zouden het geweldig vinden als je met ons meegaat op een korte wandeling door het secundaire regenwoud om ze te lokaliseren. Dit pad is slechts 2 km. (1,25 mijl) en is ontworpen met het hele gezin in gedachten. Het is heel gewoon om deze kleine zoogdieren te zien die zich verstoppen tussen de vegetatie. Maar onze deskundige gidsen kennen al hun geheimen en trucs! We zullen ook interessante feiten leren over enkele van de fantastische planten die we onderweg tegenkomen. Vanwege de ligging en het type flora is dit pad ook erg bevolkt met vogels. Als aanvulling op een ochtend of middag vol dieren in het wild, zullen we vele soorten vogels in de omgeving kunnen waarderen. Alleen aanbevolen voor luiaard- en vogelliefhebbers! We had an incredible experience with Jacamar Naturalist Tours! Our guide, Jhersson, went above and beyond to make the tour both educational and exciting. His knowledge of Costa Rica’s wildlife was impressive, and he had an amazing eye for spotting animals we never would have seen on our own, including sloths, colorful birds, frogs, and other wildlife. The suspension bridges offered beautiful views of the rainforest, and Jhersson made the entire experience engaging by sharing fascinating facts about the plants, animals, and ecosystem. You can tell he is passionate about what he does, and it made the tour unforgettable. We had a nice hike through the rainforest. Our tour guide “Jay” was excellent and very knowledgeable. He pointed out sloths, birds and frogs. It had rained all morning so the sloths were curled up in the trees. It was a nice relaxing tour. Make sure to spray for bugs ahead of time.

Our guide was Hugo, biologist and very knowledgeable. We saw lazy snake birds on a tour that our young daughters could participate in. We loved 10/10
David was so informative and knowledgeable! We did see the sloths right away and we saw 2 more. Both 2 toed and 3 toed. Birds, frogs, etc. My husband and I were very satisfied- the only problem was that the time of the meeting was completely wrong. Thankfully we were only ones on the group tour so it was not an issue. My meeting time was an hour later than his. But aside from that - all went well.
Jose is a very talented and knowledgeable guide. He made this tour everything we wanted. This slower paced walk through the rainforest was wonderful for my husband who has a mobility issue.
We had a wonderful experience on this excursion. The owner of the trail was onsite and took the time to mark so many sloths and other animals he had spotted on the trail that day. We saw at least 8 sloths as well as several different types of birds and other animals. We really felt that the owner and our guide (Bernardo) went out of their way to make sure we didn’t miss a single thing. The trail was well maintained and super peaceful. It wasn’t crowded and wasn’t too touristy. I highly recommend this tour and this particular trail. We had a fantastic experience.
It was amazing! We saw sloths birds frogs and bats! It was a private tour and well worth it! Guide was friendly and knowledgeable!
This is a great way to see sloths, learn about their environment and be educated in other animals found in the rainforest while walking on a level trail. Melanie was a great guide, informative and patient.

This was an incredible tour.Jason was very knowledgeable about the area and spotted many sloths for us. He was extremely patient and kept finding better spots with his telescope for us to get clearer views of the sloths, and he took camera-quality photos with a phone through the telescope for us (see our attached photos). Would highly recommend. The driver Edson was also very friendly and safe.
After a late night flight to San Jose and early morning drive to La Fortuna, the Sloths and Birds Sightseeing Tour was the perfect way to start our Costa Rica vacation! The tour was fantastic yet relaxing, and we saw 5 sloths and lots of birds, including Toucans (and bats!) Our guide, Caesar, was friendly, knowledgeable and expert at spotting and identifying birds. He took no more than 2-3 seconds to set up his telescopic lens and helped to line-up our phones to the lens so that we could take expert pics ourselves. The tour ended at a farm with delicious fresh fruits and home-made, traditional snacks. We highly recommend!! Family of 5 (kids ages 23, 21 and 19) from Long Island, New York
