Je avontuur begint wanneer je wordt begroet door een lokale professionele gids. Zij ontmoeten je in de lobby van je hotel en beginnen aan een twee uur durende wandeling om de hoogtepunten van de stad te ontdekken. Bewonder het opvallende treinstation van Luzern, bekend om zijn prachtige hal en strak gebogen dak, een meesterwerk vervaardigd door de veelgeprezen architect Santiago Calatrava. Als u langs het station wandelt, komt u de betoverende Kapelbrug (Kapellbrücke) en de Watertoren tegen, die dateren uit de 14e eeuw en daarmee de oudste overdekte houten voetgangersbrug van Europa zijn. Ontdek langs de promenade langs de rivier de Reuss de jezuïetenkerk (Jesuitenkirche), een indrukwekkende kerk in barokstijl doordrenkt van geschiedenis. Vervolg uw verkenningstocht door de goed bewaarde steegjes van de oude stad. Je rondleiding culmineert bij het aangrijpende Stervende Leeuw-monument van Luzern, een sombere sculptuur die hulde brengt aan de Zwitserse Garde die omkwam tijdens de Franse Revolutie in Parijs in 1792.

Je zult elk moment bewonderen als je over de oudste nog bestaande houten brug van Europa loopt, die dateert uit de 14e eeuw. Op deze voetgangersbrug staan verschillende schilderijen uit de 17e eeuw. Een deel van deze bloeiende brug werd gedeeltelijk verwoest door een brand veroorzaakt in 1993, maar werd later herbouwd.
We vervolgen de reis over de goed bewaarde wegen van Luzern in de oude binnenstad, wat toeristen van over de hele wereld zeker zal verbazen. Liggend tussen het stadhuis en de Kapelbrug. Na afloop van de wandeling kunt u heerlijk zitten in een van de gevarieerde restaurants met een prachtig uitzicht over het Vierwoudstrekenmeer.

I just wanted to come here and thank Payam our driver/guide for giving us a wonderful day exploring 4 Countries. Yes - it was long, but we enjoyed it right up to the end. It was absolutely amazing seeing a little of Lichtenstein, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland all in one day. Yes - in each place - I wish I had more time, but it gave me enough time to see each beautiful place and learn some interesting facts from Payam. Beyond a fabulous experience! We spent 2 days driving from Zurich to Mount Pilatus and Lucerne and the second day to Mount Titlus and Interkocken. Paul was our guide and provided endless historical knowledge from the area. Beautiful car and everything in time and relaxing. The scenery was gorgeous! Payam picked us up in Zurich our 3rd day to travel to Basel. He turned us on to several unique spots that we will remember forever. 10/10 experience!

Kayleigh was our guide this morning for a two hour walking tour of Lucerne. As with all employees of AlpExcursions, she promptly met us at the designated location. Kayleigh’s walking tour was outstanding. We covered many of Lucerne’s historic landmarks and its old town area. Kayleigh is a Canadian who moved to Switzerland five of so years ago, but her knowledge of Lucerne was at the level of a native. She has a fun and energetic personality and it was a great pleasure to spend a couple of hours with her. This walking tour was our second of our trip to Switzerland. Both guides were provided by AlpExcursions which is highly recommended to all.
