De eerste bestemming op je lijst is Bran Castle, een locatie met een geschiedenis van meer dan 6 eeuwen, beter bekend als Dracula's Castle. Door de eeuwen heen werden de legendes van het kasteel sterker dan zijn geschiedenis en bezoeken honderdduizenden toeristen elk jaar het kasteel van Bran op zoek naar Dracula.
Je bezoekt dan een schilderachtig dorp op meer dan 1.000 meter hoogte. Dit land is een waar stukje hemel, omringd door enkele van de belangrijkste Karpaten, zoals Bucegi, Leaota, Piatra Craiului en Postavarul.
Vervolgens ga je naar de Bats 'Cave, gelegen in het noordwesten van het Bran-platform, op een hoogte van ongeveer 950 meter. De grot is gemaakt door de erosie van de berg door de Valea cu Cale Creek en de naam wordt gegeven door de enorme vleermuiskolonies die erin leven, waaronder enkele unieke soorten vleermuizen. U bezoekt Fundatica, een gebied op de hoogste hoogte in Roemenië. Op deze plek houdt de frisse berglucht de lokale bevolking gezond, en de gemiddelde levensduur van meer dan 80 jaar dient als een bewijs van deze bewering.
Na een heerlijke traditionele lunch, begint u aan een trektocht naar een traditionele schaapskooi, waar u zult zien hoe de schapen worden gemolken en hoe de lokale kaas wordt geproduceerd, volgens methoden en tradities die van generatie op generatie zijn doorgegeven. Eindelijk vang je de zonsondergang in Brasov, waar je de oude binnenstad van de stad bezoekt, een plaats die de straten en de middeleeuwse vestingwerken rondom de stad heeft behouden.

We had an amazing bespoke tour of Transylvania with our fabulous guide Traian. We visited Bran Castle, Brasov, Sibiu, Cluj, Sighisoara and the salt mines at Turda. We stayed in hotels in Brasov and Cluj. The one in Brasov was absolutely beautiful. Traian took us to great places for lunch (two of which we had outside in the sunshine - in February), and made some superb recommendations for restaurants in the evening - even managing to get the four of us into one of the best restaurants in Brasov on Valentines night (which we had completely forgotten about). The trip was absolutely fantastic. One we will never forget. And for four days tour (including admittance fees), three nights accommodation, very comfortable transport, and a local and knowledgeable guide with perfect English, we felt the cost was really excellent value for money.

It was a really good experience. Alex listened carefully to what we wanted to do, offered thoughts and suggestions, and provided lots of insights. I was traveling with my 16-year-old son and Alex handled all of that very well. There was a really good balance of physical activity and cultural/historical insights. We went on a great bike ride in the foothills around Viscri, a challenging and fantastic experience. Both my son and I found Alex to be a great help and companion. I also found Rolandia to be responsive and helpful. When two different airlines cancelled our flights from Budapest to Transylvania, we were frustrated (first Wizz Air cancelled, then our back up plan, Austrian Airlines, also canceled). Rolandia sent someone (the great Laur) to pick us up in Budapest at a cost that was 30% lower than drivers available to us for hire. It was a great and unforgettable trip. I would recommend that anyone visiting Romania hire these guys as guides and advisors.
Having read so many online tour scams, we were a bit cautious when booking with Rolandia but Ioana have been extremely helpful, patient and accomodating to our queries during the planning phase and also last minute changes. Ioana is flexible, detailed and followed up periodically and we really appreciate the tips, guidance, proposals as well as the customer service - a total pleasure to work with. Our guide Adrian was very informative, accommodating and patient as well. The level of professionalism was surprising as some tour agents and tour guides are not that knowledgeable and what we really appreciated is that we managed to skip the long queues, travel at our own pace and at our own flexibility.
