In combinatie met zowel onze Outlander tour als onze Loch Ness Tour met lokale Highland gidsen reizen we vanuit Invergordon langs de oever van de Cromarty Firth en maken we onze weg naar Beauly , waarbij we stoppen bij Robertsons Farm Shop om wat Highland Coos te zien . We gaan verder naar Beauly Priory , het 13e eeuwse klooster gebouwd voor een orde van Valliscauliaanse monniken. De Priorij was een oude begraafplaats voor de Clans Fraser en Mackenzie en komt voor in Outlander. Beauly achterlatend gaan we verder over Culnakirk Hill naar Drumnadrochit en bezoeken Urquhart Castle dat op een kaap ligt dat uitsteekt in Loch Ness , het uitzicht op het Loch is fantastisch vanaf hier en het was in de buurt waar St Columba het monster van Loch Ness heeft gezien. We gaan dan richting Inverness waar je de gelegenheid hebt om de nieuwe Inverness Castle-ervaring te bezoeken, lunch te krijgen en wat van het stadscentrum te zien. voordat we naar Clava Cairns en Culloden Battlefield reizen voordat we je terugbrengen naar de haven.

Op weg naar Beauly stoppen we bij Robertsons Farm Shop in Beauly waar we enkele magnifieke Highland Coos zullen zien, waaronder een prachtige Black Bull genaamd Jamie Mackenzie Fraser naar de Outlander Hero.
Beauly Priory werd gesticht in de 13e eeuw als een klooster voor Valliscauliaanse orde van monniken uit Dijon in Frankrijk, Oliver Cromwells troepen waren verantwoordelijk voor de vernietiging van de Priorij in de 16e eeuw. Eeuwenlang was dit een begraafplaats voor de stamhoofden van Clan Fraser en Mackenzie en hun families. Hun is een Outlander connectie omdat Claire hier de Ziener ontmoette.
Urquhart Castle ligt op een voorgebergte dat uitsteekt in Loch Ness en is door de jaren heen vele malen bevochten. Het uitzicht op Loch Ness vanaf het kasteel is fantastisch en tijdens het bezoek kunt u de ruïnes van dit 1000 jaar oude kasteel gaan verkennen en kunt u afdalen naar de waterkant van Loch Ness. Houd je ogen open voor het geval Nessie verschijnt.
Inverness staat bekend als de hoofdstad van de Highlands. We stoppen in Inverness en bezoeken de Old High Church waar Jacobitische gevangenen na de slag werden geëxecuteerd en je ziet musketkogelsporen op de torenmuur waar de executies plaatsvonden. U krijgt ook de gelegenheid om de nieuwste bezoeker attractie in Schotland te bezoeken - Inverness Castle waar u ook wat lunch kunt pakken en wat van deze historische stad kunt zien.
We zullen Clava Cairns bezoeken en je kunt 2 van de 3 Cairns betreden, deze 4000 jaar oude begraafplaats uit de Bronstijd is waar Diana Gabaldon inspiratie opdeed voor haar Outlander-serie en je zult de Cleft Stone en de steencirkels rond de Cairns zien.
De Slag bij Culloden in 1746 was de laatste slag die op Britse bodem werd uitgevochten. We wandelen rond de belangrijkste gebieden van het Slagveld waar de zwaarste gevechten plaatsvonden en onze Gids vertelt je over de Jacobieten en de slag, je ziet de memorial cairn , de put van de doden en de grafstenen van de clans evenals Leanach cottage. Dit bezoek staat bovenaan de lijst voor Outlander fans.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Wij halen alle reizigers binnen een uur na aankomst van uw schip op bij de havenpoort en brengen de reizigers binnen de aangegeven tijd terug naar de poort. Wij bevestigen met reizigers de ophaaltijd. We wachten buiten de poort aan de andere kant van de weg tot u van boord gaat en we hebben een bord met uw naam.

Taking this private tour was a great decision. Lawrence, our driver and guide for the day, was excellent, taking great care of us, making sure we got into the venues, castles, etc. not just dropping us off in the parking lot. Professional, he shared his knowledge and history of the area. Schedule was flexible, so we were able to spend a little more time in Inverness. Met us at the Invergordon cruise port and returned us on time. Would book again!

Billy was the absolute best tour guide! Our group had a wonderful time! He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about all of our stops! Every stop on the tour was amazing! My favorite was the Cawdor Castle and Gardens!

Our tour guide, Kevin, showed us the grandeur of Lochness, the exquisite gardens of Cawdor Castle, an old Stonehenge like ruin, called Balnuaren of Clava, the site of the Battle of Culloden, a visit to see the "hurry coos" (hairy cows) and lunch at a fantastic local eatery. We were in a caravan of three cars snd all the hosts were accommodating. They also provided us with tasty local snacks and water. Thank you for sharing your beautiful homeland with us! We visited so many places but did not feel rushed.

Billy met us at the port of Invergordon, on time and ready to show us Scotland. I had a few key places I wanted to see, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Battle of Culloden and Clava Cairns. Billy made many more stops and I was very impressed with his knowledge. I truly appreciate the extra effort and time to show us as much as he could. We had a short stop in Canterbury and Billy recommended a lovely lunch cafe. This tour went beyond my expectations. At the end of the tour, he gifted us with some lovely Tea cakes. I highly recommend Highlander Private Tours. The cost shadows with the experience, time, and memories.
I would recommend this tour to anyone coming off a cruise ship and has a day to spend in the area. Billy Maclean was our tour guide and took very good care of us. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed our day with him. He was very flexible given we docked late and was able to fit everything in we wanted to do.

I enjoyed my trip to Inverness very much. The driver showed us many different sightseeing attractions and told us something about the history. As an "Outlander-fan" the driver took us for instance to the locations the author Diana Gabaldon got her ideas from. I thank you Billie very much for this unusual experience. I like to think back on this journey.
