We komen aan in Rannoch Moor, omgeven door bergachtige landschappen, meren en valleien. We stoppen in een van de mooiste en meest magische valleien in Schotland, Glencoe Valley, waar het bloedige bloedbad van de MacDonald-clan plaatsvond. Je kunt een aantal geweldige foto's maken van The Three Sisters en ook proberen een aantal van de beroemde landschappen te spotten uit beroemde films zoals Harry Potter en James Bond.
We zullen nog een korte stop maken om de Three Sisters te bewonderen, drie ongewone rotsformaties. De puntige ruggen worden Gearr Aonach (korte rug), Aonach Dubh (zwarte rug) en Beinn Fhada (lange rug) genoemd.
We vervolgen onze reis naar Loch Ness en passeren Fort William. Het Caledonisch Kanaal en het sluizensysteem van Fort Augustus zullen onze volgende bestemming zijn. Er is voldoende tijd om het kanaal te bezoeken en desgewenst mee te gaan op de Loch Ness-cruise. Vergeet je fototoestel niet! Vanuit dit gezichtspunt kun je fantastische foto's maken van het meer en het landschap. Het ticket voor de cruise van een uur op Loch Ness is niet inbegrepen in de prijs van de dagtocht (ticketprijs voor klanten van LochNessBus.com is: £ 18 volwassenen / £ 11 kinderen van 5 tot 15 jaar oud / £ 16,00 studenten en senioren burgers - boven de 60). Er is geen gezinskorting beschikbaar. Om van de groepskorting gebruik te kunnen maken, mag voor de attracties alleen met pin worden betaald. BELANGRIJKE GEGEVENS De cruise is niet beschikbaar op 26 december.
Nadat we Loch ness hebben verlaten, gaan we naar het Commando Memorial, een monument gewijd aan dappere soldaten in de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Vanaf hier kunt u, als de mist het toelaat, de prachtige Ben Nevis zien, de hoogste berg in het Verenigd Koninkrijk.
Onze reis gaat verder op Cairngorms National Park. Loch Lagann en Ardverikie Castle zijn enkele van de plaatsen die we zullen zien op onze weg naar Pitlochry. Dit dorp staat vol met prachtige Victoriaanse huizen en zal onze laatste stop zijn voor onze terugkeer naar Edinburgh. Je hebt tijd om te genieten van een drankje in een van de vele pubs.
Op onze reis terug naar Edinburgh kun je genieten van de verandering in omgeving tussen de Highlands en de Lowlands en zie je ook de 19e-eeuwse Forth-spoorbrug die de Firth of Forth kruist, nog een andere bijdrage van Schotland aan de Werelderfgoedlijst. Eenmaal terug in Edinburgh is er nog steeds tijd voor ons om u iets aan te bieden over hoe u uw tijd kunt doorbrengen in de hoofdstad van Schotland.

That you spend a lot of time in the bus. The scenery was very nice and the stops along the way we're spaced out fairly well

The Highlands are quite spread out, so some time on the bus is necessary to reach these beautiful locations. We do our best to balance the driving with regular stops and interesting commentary along the way to make the journey as enjoyable as possible. Despite typically Scottish rainy weather, the trip was magical. Finding myself in the heart of the Highlands driven by a driving fairy (thanks again Alba) filled my heart with those little joys that you don't always expect in your fifties. The cruise on Loch Ness is pleasant even in the rain because I stayed sheltered inside the boat with a good green tea and Haggis chips.
We enjoyed the long journey through the beautiful Scottish countryside. Our guide Tom made it even more special with his extensive information and enthusiasm!

Our guide Tom Chapman was extremely knowledgeable and kept the day interesting from start to finish! I didn’t realize it was a coach bus situation when we signed up but it was actually ok. The cruise was underwhelming but overall an amazing day in the highlands!!
We had an amazing tour. Tom Chapman was the tour guide and the bus driver whom I can’t remember his name was very helpful and friendly. They are both very patient and professional, always smiling. We enjoyed our day tour and will surely be back.
Adam was an extremely friendly and knowledgeable guide. He loved his job and it showed. He was a very engaged and enthusiastic storyteller, and I would highly recommend this tour for not only the fun stories, but also the places he told them in.
This bus trip takes you out of the city of Edinburgh and into the magical Scotland highlands. The views are outstanding. Pictures truly do not do it justice. Our tour guide Thomas was phenomenal and very informative. Driver (Chris I think) was so great! I learned so much on this trip. It was a beautiful outing. Keep in mind it's a long day trip (12 to 13 hours) but the views are totally worth it.
Our tour guide Callum did a fantastic job at sharing the history of the highlands. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to fill a day of their trip with rich history!

The tour guide was excellent. Not a lot of time in Pitlochery. Loch Ness was ok but if you don't opt to pay for the cruise just know you'll have ample time on your hands and there isn't much to do for that extended period of time. Overall it was a convient way to view a bit of the Highlands without the strain of driving yourself : )
