Livingstone historische stadstour
Beschrijving
Na de rondleiding door het Museum zullen klanten een snelle stadstour door Livingstone doen met een commentaar terwijl ze langzaam de historische rondleiding door Livingstone uitleggen. Stoppen bij grote historische gebouwen en afgevaardigden zijn vrij om foto's te maken. De stad Livingstone werd in 1905 verplaatst van Old Drift toen werd besloten dat een locatie op Constitution Hill gezonder zou zijn dan die op de rivier. De stad was zorgvuldig gepland met brede straten, lanen met prachtige bomen, gebouwen met hoge plafonds en veranda's met muggengaas. Klanten worden meegenomen om de beroemde Curio-markt te bekijken, een bruisende kleurrijke markt waar de lokale Zambianen komen winkelen. De markt verkoopt alles van heldere chitenge (lokale stof), tassen, curiosa gemaakt van verschillende soorten bomen, koperen armbanden, wandklokken, Afrikaanse kaarten met behulp van de Big 5-dieren enz. Deze markt is gelegen in een klein park in het centrum van de stad . Na de tour worden klanten teruggebracht naar het hotel.

With limited time in Zambia (mainly to view Victoria Falls) we wanted to get a feel for the country and Livingstone, a city rich in history. Our tour guides Mwanga Lwa & Silvester delivered this and more. We had a comprehensive tour of the Livingstone Museum before going on a very extensive drive through the city: the colonial building, churches, the Jewish cemetery, and the rich and poor areas. We loved the slow drive through the amazing market areas where a foot tour may have made us feel a little uneasy. The vehicle was very comfortable and our guides bent over backwards to ensure that the tour was tailored to our interests. They stopped the vehicle whenever we wanted photos or to have a closer look at an attraction. Mwanga Lwa was very articulate and gave us an great overview of Zambia's people, cultures, history and present issues. A tour that truly exceeded our expectations! Many thanks guys...

I enjoyed so much the drive as the guide me drove me into different parts of livingstone seeing how rich and locals live in this city. Unbelievable diversity between the standards of living in this city.The guide was excellent and a well knowledgeable of his city.At the museum the guidness was poor as the museum guide only directed me from one part to another without any explanation.

Excellent experience. Learnt a lot about the history of Zambia through the museum tour. Subsequent tour of the city to various parts of the town including the markets was an eye opening and cultural experience. We learnt a lot from our guide, Mwangelua who was very knowledgeable and hospitable.
