Verlaat Reykjavík en reis naar de Lava Tunnel van Raufarhólshellir voor een rondleiding door de grot van een uur, op slechts 30 minuten afstand. Loop door het pad van de lava en leer over de geschiedenis van de tunnel. De lavatunnel is een van de grootste in IJsland en scènes uit de film Noah werden in de grot opgenomen. We bezoeken de lavatunnel Raufarhólshellir op slechts 30 minuten van Reykjavík. We zullen getuige zijn van de innerlijke werking van een vulkaanuitbarsting terwijl we wandelen op het pad van een lava die duizenden jaren geleden stroomde. De lavatunnel is een van de grootste in IJsland en wordt tot 30 meter breed en 10 meter hoog. Het plafond van de lavabuis is ingestort bij de ingang, waardoor prachtige lichtkolommen ontstaan. Het fantastische kleurenpalet van de tunnelmuur wordt veroorzaakt door de verschillende minerale soorten van de rots.

• Zorg ervoor dat je minimaal 30 minuten voor vertrek bij het door jou aangewezen opstappunt bent. Onze pick-up voertuigen zijn goed gemarkeerd met de Reykjavik Excursies. • Elke chauffeur heeft een paar haltes, dus het kan tot 30 minuten duren om iedereen op te halen, dus u hoeft zich geen zorgen te maken als de bus er niet meteen is.

If unsteady on your feet, use the walking sticks! Very helpful. Guide was easy to understand and info was educational.
Wonderful adventure…..learned a lot about geology and volcanoes. Wear good shoes, the inside of the lava tube is wet!
The tunnel was interesting and the guide was knowledgeable. Be prepared that the rocks are uneven and be careful walking. They did provide walking sticks along with the helmet and light, which was helpful.
This tour was fabulous! So glad I didn’t miss it. The tunnels are amazing. Walking requires caution but it was surprisingly not slippery. Take your time to enjoy this unique environment.
Walking sticks are VERY helpful… visitors should know that ahead of time. Guide was amazing! She really filled us in on history etc

Be ready for the pick up probably just before the 30mins prior to pick up time. Very good service & they will usually drop you back to where they picked you up in the way back to the main bus station.
