Crowfoot Glacier ligt langs de Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park en is vernoemd naar zijn vorm, die lijkt op een kraaienpootje. Het ligt boven Bow Lake en is een opvallend voorbeeld van de gletsjerschoonheid van de regio, met meerdere ijstenen die zich uitstrekken langs de berghelling. Een perfecte stop voor foto's, korte wandelingen en een schilderachtig uitzicht op de Canadese Rockies.
Bow Lake staat bekend om zijn kristalheldere turquoise water en prachtige bergachtergrond, waaronder de Bow Glacier. Het is een favoriete stop voor fotografie, korte wandelingen en picknicks, met rustige reflecties op rustige dagen die de schoonheid van de Rockies perfect vastleggen.
Naam als een van de mooiste drives ter wereld. Onderweg zie je torenhoge bergen, gletsjers, turquoise meren, watervallen en een overvloed aan wilde dieren.
Peyto Lake is beroemd om zijn levendige turquoise kleur en wolf-hoofd vorm wanneer gezien vanaf de Bow Summit uitkijk. Het meer wordt gevoed door smeltwater van gletsjers en wordt omgeven door torenhoge bergen en weelderige bossen, waardoor het een must-stop is voor fotografie en korte wandelingen.
Lunchpauze : Tussen de middag kunt u genieten van een pauze bij The Crossing (Saskatchewan River Crossing), waar u een optionele lunchbuffet kunt kopen.
De reis gaat verder over de adembenemende Icefields Parkway (Highway 93), vaak gerangschikt onder de mooiste drives op aarde. Bij aankomst in het Columbia Icefield Centre kunnen gasten ervoor kiezen om aan boord te gaan van de legendarische Ice Explorer Snowcoach (optionele extra activiteit moet minstens 7 dagen voor het begin van de reis worden gekocht) voor een eenmalige rit naar de Athabasca-gletsjer, staand op ijs dat in de loop van miljoenen jaren is gevormd.

The tour was sunny and the view was good, the guide KAN was very friendly to us and thanks to the horse guide KAN. Along the way, the snowy mountains are beautiful, and each of the four lakes has its own characteristics. The most important thing is to take a lot of good photos, the itinerary is very easy, the horse guide service is very well in place, and also tells us a lot about the human history.

性價比最高的併團!當天只有14位團員,領導Kan Ma是香港人,全程都可以三語廣播,帶着老人家也不怕聽不懂。 因為我住Banff,1120才在酒店出發,特別注意的是網站上面只有固定酒店可選, 但領隊其實前一天就會whatsapp你,你跟他說 pick up跟drop off在哪裡就行,不同的pick up跟 drop off也可以,比加Calgary pick up,Banff drop off。 這個團的snowcoach是另外加購,官方網站寫要14天前預訂,我猜是怕沒位置,什麼服務供應商也是pursuit的票,因為領隊當天控制時間,也不好自己訂,而且服務供應商的價錢還便宜一點。我們是1645的snowcoach,之前會先去其實湖看看eg Bow Lake,本來這團是不含skywalk(時間不容許,本身pursuit的票就有 skywalk),但它的shuttle完了snowcoach之後就自動帶了我們去skywalk,意外驚喜!後來問領隊,pursuit的安排本來就混亂,有時候會這樣, 只是苦了領隊多等了我們快一小時,最後我們 2200才回到Banff,如果是Calgary大概要0000......

The tour got us to the glacier too-late, we missed the Bus that is suppose to take us to the glacier point. - The whole point of going to the Columbia icefield was to get on the glacier to see it up close. - Instead we had to see from nearly 2 miles away. The tour guide was not willing to wait for us to take a later bus since it would delay his return schedule. 2. The tour guide knew some of the people on the tour had tickets for the Icefied bus, he did not tell the rest of us. As a result we had a group of people who were simply stranded at the bus-station. - When I asked him about this problem, he claims he told us to book- online but we never heard him say this. - Asking if we had tickets for the icefield bus should have been the FIRST thing he should have confirmed.. 4. The tour guide was a good driver & nice person but he barely spoke english. - We could barely understand what he was saying, we understood about at the most 25% of what he said. - He did however seem to speak good chinese, & was communicating with the chinese people on the tour. 5. Bottom line the important thing is that we did not get a chance to explore the Columbia Icefield.... 6. Please refund the cost of the tour for the 3 of us...

We recommend contacting us at least 7 days in advance to book activities at the Icefield. The tour schedule is fixed and arranged in advance, so the driver and other guests cannot wait indefinitely. Lastly, there were non-Chinese-speaking guests on your tour, and our guide did communicate with them as well. However, we value your feedback and will work to improve the overall level of our guides. Firstly, we did do all the activities on time, but the journey was just horrible. I have never seen such a reckless driver, for a personal vehicle or driving a bus with 20 or so people on board. He cut in and out lanes and even crossing the solid line on his side. Honking and cursing everyone who was in his way. At some point, he was at least 40 km/hr over the limit. On the return trip, we stopped at the town of Banff and while we were waiting for other customers to unload, another fellow bus driver caught up and complaining him cutting him off and he just joke about it. We end up at the same location so what's the point of such reckless driving. It might be because of this abusive use of the vehicle, about 50 km from the airport when we return, there was a loud cranking noise underneath the car. After a few minutes of inspection, he decided to keep going at half of the speed, ironically. It has to be the longest 40 minutes of my life and probably also true for the rest of the 20 passengers. With the company logo on the side of the vehicle, it cannot be good for the reputation.

The trip itself was fantastic with incredibly beautiful nature. However, our driver drove extremely badly. He was driving very hard - overtaking everything and everyone on the highway. Inside and out and much of the way with one hand as he held the microphone in his hand much of the time.

My family booked this trip. It was a good one especially with our nice tour guide Ray. Really enjoy time with Ray! However the schedule is too many spots and no time to enjoy every spot. And Ray has to deliver the bottle water and luggage tag, everything all by himself. Too much loading.
