U wordt met vreugde ontvangen door onze bemanning in de Marina de Lagos, waar het avontuur begint nog voordat u aan boord stapt. Samen met jou overlopen we de route en stemmen we de ervaring af op jouw wensen. We delen duidelijke instructies en insider tips om het meeste uit elk moment op het water te halen.
Ons avontuur begint bij Ponta da Piedade, een adembenemend juweeltje langs de Algarve kustlijn. Dit natuurwonder heeft torenhoge goudkleurige kliffen, gebeeldhouwd door de tijd en de getijden tot betoverende bogen, grotten en verborgen grotten. Deze dramatische rotsformaties rijzen tot 20 meter boven de kristalheldere Atlantische Oceaan uit en vormen een perfect tafereel voor ansichtkaarten dat tot de meest iconische bezienswaardigheden van Portugal behoort. Hier pauzeren we om te genieten van de panoramische schoonheid en prachtige foto's te maken in de mystieke zeegrotten. En voor degenen die hunkeren naar een vleugje avontuur, bieden de uitnodigende turquoise wateren de perfecte plek voor een verfrissende duik in het meesterwerk van de natuur.
Onze reis naar de legendarische Benagil-grot gaat verder met adembenemende uitzichten op de kust, te beginnen bij het prachtige Praia do Torrado. Terwijl we langs de kustlijn varen, onthult elke bocht dramatische kliffen, verborgen stranden en het eindeloze blauw van de Atlantische Oceaan dat zich uitstrekt tot aan de horizon. Onderweg valt er zoveel meer te ontdekken, waardoor dit een onvergetelijk avontuur wordt!
Maak je klaar om langs enkele van de meest iconische pareltjes langs de Algarve kustlijn te varen! Terwijl we door dit prachtige zeegezicht glijden, komt de ene adembenemende plek na de andere in beeld. Onder hen is het pittoreske Praia do Carvoeiro, een ansichtkaart-perfect strand genesteld tussen gouden kliffen en charmante witgekalkte huizen. Met zijn turquoise wateren en dramatische rotsformaties is dit kustparadijs een lust voor het oog. Maar dat is nog maar het begin – elk stuk van de reis bevat een nieuw wonder dat wacht om ontdekt te worden!
Vanaf zee ontsluiten we een geheel nieuw perspectief op de meest adembenemende wonderen van de Algarve. Zwevend langs de kustlijn krijgen we een close-up van verborgen pareltjes zoals de betoverende Boneca’s Cave – waar de natuur prachtige rotsformaties heeft gebeeldhouwd die lijken op ramen naar het eindeloze blauw. Het uitzicht vanaf het water is ronduit magisch en onthult geheime hoekjes van de kust die maar weinigen te zien krijgen. En het beste deel? We ervaren het allemaal in totale rust, moeiteloos glijdend door dit paradijs aan boord van ons schip. Elk moment is een ansichtkaart in wording!
Inmiddels hebben we al enkele van de meest ongelooflijke grotten verkend op weg naar het legendarische Benagil. Maar een van de echte hoogtepunten is het prachtige uitzicht op de Alfanzina vuurtoren vanaf de oceaan. Trots op de kliffen is dit iconische baken nog indrukwekkender vanaf het water. En de echte magie? Eronder ligt een enorme verborgen grot – een die we niet alleen van veraf bewonderen, maar ook daadwerkelijk naar binnen wagen! Het contrast van licht en schaduw, de echo van de golven en de enorme omvang van dit natuurwonder maken het een onvergetelijk moment van onze reis.
Eindelijk bereiken we het kroonjuweel van de Algarve – Algarve de Benagil, een van de meest adembenemende en gewilde bestemmingen in Portugal! Deze prachtige zeegrot, met zijn torenhoge gouden muren en iconische zonovergoten koepel, voelt als een verborgen kathedraal uitgehouwen door de natuur zelf. De verwachting bouwt zich op naarmate we dichterbij komen, en eenmaal binnen ontvouwt de magie zich echt. Maak je klaar om enkele van de meest epische foto's van de reis te maken, omlijst door het natuurlijke dakraam van de grot en het kristalheldere water. Dit is het moment waar we op hebben gewacht – een onvergetelijk hoogtepunt van ons avontuur!
Onze grote finale brengt ons naar Praia da Marinha, een waar juweel van de Portugese kustlijn en een van de meest adembenemende stranden ter wereld! Omlijst door torenhoge gouden kliffen en gekust door kristalhelder water, is dit paradijs de perfecte plek om te ontspannen. We nemen een verfrissende duik in de turquoise zee, genietend van de schoonheid van onze omgeving. Daarna ontspannen we aan boord met een aantal heerlijke snacks, genietend van de laatste momenten van deze onvergetelijke reis voordat we onze weg terug naar Lagos maken. Het is de perfecte afsluiting van een episch avontuur!
(Optionele extra stop) Deze optionele extra activiteit omvat een stop bij het Alvor-estuarium, een unieke natuurlijke omgeving in de Algarve. Gasten zullen genieten van rivierstranden aan boord, omgeven door kalme en schilderachtige wateren. Tijdens de stop is er tijd om over kleine verlaten eilanden te wandelen, te ontspannen in een rustige omgeving en te zwemmen in rustig, ondiep water. Na deze verfrissende pauze eindigt de tour met een aangename terugreis naar Lagos Marina.
Als we terugkeren naar de Marina de Lagos na een onvergetelijke reis en de prachtige zeegrotten van de Algarve ontdekken, is de sfeer gevuld met een ontspannen glimlach en blijvende herinneringen. Geniet van de zachte terugrit, de gouden kustlijn die in de verte vervaagt en het gevoel iets echt bijzonders te hebben meegemaakt. I don’t say this lightly: this was the single most memorable thing I’ve ever experienced. Truly. We booked not knowing quite what to expect, and from start to finish it was exhilarating — the kind of day that has everyone grinning and a little breathless. What made it extraordinary was how it landed with the kids. They were thrilled the entire time, completely caught up in it, and watching them light up like that is something I’ll carry with me for a long time. Mad Max is the reason it worked. We booked a private tour with Algarve On Board on a bit of a whim, and it ended up being the highlight of our whole trip. Max made it that way. From the moment we stepped on board he had the balance exactly right — relaxed and easy to be around, but clearly someone who knows these waters cold. He took us along the cliffs and into the caves and grottoes, and every time we rounded a corner there was something that made us gasp. He knew precisely where to slow down, where to let us just sit and take it in, and where the light hit best for photos (he offered to take them without us even asking). What stood out most was how genuinely warm he was. He read the group perfectly — gave the kids a thrill, answered our endless questions about the coastline, and never once made it feel rushed or scripted. By the end it felt less like a tour and more like a day out with someone who really loves where he lives and wanted us to love it too. If you’re deciding whether to do this: do it, and hope you get Max. We’ll be back.

We had the most incredible day yesterday with Max touring the Algarve area. The views were spectacular, however, our host Max was the real star!
