Wat maakt Kyoto Samurai Experience uniek Dit is meer dan alleen zwaardtraining – het is een zeldzame kans om in de levende geschiedenis van de samoerai te stappen. Van het dragen van traditionele kleding tot het oefenen van bewegingen met Expert instructeurs, elke stap dompelt je onder in een manier van leven gevormd door eeuwenlange discipline. Je verfijnt je vorm door middel van zwaardwerk en snijdt vervolgens een doelwit met een echte iaitō. De ervaring eindigt met zenmeditatie en de kans om een antiek samoeraizwaard vast te houden – dat lichaam, geest en geschiedenis verbindt. Doordacht ontworpen, biedt het een krachtige introductie tot de blijvende geest van de samoerai.

We loved this experience!!! Being able to learn the history of the samurai in a real samurai house and then swing a samurai sword was incredible! This experience was so immersive. We got to wear traditional samurai outfits and practice the mental meditation too. The staff and samurai instructors were amazing and even took pictures for us! Highly recommend, it was a huge highlightbof our entire trip!
Super fun experience and get a deep insight in to samurai culture and history. Definitely a bucket list item ticked off.
We found the experience very informative and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. At around two hours, it slotted perfectly into our day without taking up too much time. The activity was held in a traditional Japanese home, which made the experience feel authentic and gave us a great insight into Japanese culture. The team had translators on site, making everything easy to understand. The samurai training was conducted in a safe and controlled environment, with clear safety briefings beforehand and staff keeping a close eye on everyone throughout the activity. A fantastic cultural experience, great fun and very well organised. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan.

We have been in Japan for two weeks and every new experience we have, I think to myself, “ This my favorite thing we’ve done.” However, after this samurai experience, I can safely say that nothing will ever compare to this. It was educational, authentic, physical, and spiritual. And the staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and clear with their instructions. On top of it all, most places charge you for additional photographs after an experience. But this place sent an email with 100 amazing pictures of us wielding samurai swords. Go! You will never regret it.

Terrific experience! We had an absolute blast and learned so much about the history, traditions, and techniques of the samurai. The experience was engaging, informative, and incredibly well done, and the instructor’s English was excellent, making everything easy to understand. This was a wonderful experience and completely lived up to our expectations and beyond. My son had especially been excited (aged 16). It was so well run, our small group had plenty of time and never felt rushed. Learning the history and then training and getting to strike with the sword was amazing. Highly recommend

What a great experience! I was concerned this would be "gimmicky" when I first booked it, but I could not be happier to be proven wrong. Our teacher was fantastic, a true expert at what he does. He was both patient and funny when guiding us through our sword practice. The docents leading the sword appreciation and guided meditation were also incredibly knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel very well-rounded. The staff also went above and beyond to try and alleviate the strain of the brutally-hot Kyoto summer day. They provided plenty of water and salt candies, as well as hand fans to help keep cool for the portions of the experience that were outdoors. This experience is also a quick walk from Nijo castle, so it fits well into your itinerary. Thanks for a great experience!
