We nemen je mee naar twee authentieke lokale Izakaya’s en een geheime bar weggestopt in de smalle steegjes van Kyoto. 2. We gaan naar 2 lokale izakaya in “Pontocho”. “Pontocho” is een van de beroemdste traditionele eetstraten van Kyoto, bekend om zijn smalle steegje, houten gebouwen en charmante oude sfeer. U kunt de historische en romantische sfeer van Kyoto voelen terwijl u geniet van lokale gerechten, Japanse sake en een uniek avondje uit.
Kamogawa rivier loopt door het hart van Kyoto. “Kamogawa” is geliefd bij de lokale bevolking als een plek om te ontspannen, te genieten van het landschap en de veranderende seizoenen te voelen. U kunt een rustige lokale sfeer ervaren terwijl u een meer alledaagse en charmante kant van Kyoto ziet.
We wandelen door “Gion”, Kyoto’s beroemdste geishawijk en bezoeken een verborgen bar. “Gion” staat bekend om zijn prachtige traditionele straten, oude theehuizen en elegante Kyoto sfeer. U kunt genieten van de lokale cultuur, het historische landschap en de unieke barscenes van Kyoto.

- Het reisschema voor deze tour bevat enkele locaties die niet toegankelijk zijn voor een rolstoel of kinderwagen.
- Iedereen ouder dan 20 jaar kan deelnemen aan deze tour.
- Eten en drinken zijn niet inbegrepen in deze tour. Op elke locatie zal uw Gids lokale Kyoto-gerechten aanbevelen, dus we vragen vriendelijk dat elke gast bij elke halte ten minste één etensartikel en één drankje bestelt.
- Neem contant geld mee voor betaling. We verdelen de cheque op de 1e en 2e locatie, en elk bedrag onder de 100 yen zal naar boven worden afgerond voor eenvoudigere betalingsverwerking. De derde bar werkt onder rembours.
- Omdat de meeste Japanse restaurants nog niet helemaal klaar zijn voor het aanbieden van vegetarische menu's, is er een beperkte keuze aan vegetarisch voedsel in onze tour beschikbaar.
- Deze tour kan eventueel plaatsen bezoeken waar roken niet verboden is. Houd er rekening mee dat we de tourlocaties in dit geval mogelijk niet kunnen wijzigen.
- U kunt niet deelnemen aan de tour, restitutie krijgen of een andere afspraak maken als u te laat bent voor de tour en de groep mist.
- Houd er rekening mee dat we geen allergievrij kunnen garanderen of tegemoet kunnen komen aan dieetbeperkingen, omdat het eten wordt bereid in keukens die niet van MagicalTrip zijn. Bovendien kunnen er gevallen zijn waarin vervangingen niet mogelijk zijn bij bepaalde haltes; we zullen er echter alles aan doen om te compenseren bij verschillende haltes gedurende de tour.

Kumi is so fun. We ended up being the only people in the tour at the timeslot and day but she made sure we had fun and had good insight on history and Kyoto. The three izakaya/bars were are all great especially the last one. Thanks again to Kumi, you are awesome.

Had a great time on our night bar-hopping tour with J through Gion and Pontocho. The three izakayas selected for the tour gave a good overview of the diversity of establishments that come under that category, from a standing bar in Pontocho who do a fabulous strawberry chuhai and snack plates to stepping away from the crowds at the end of the night and relaxing on cushion seats and low tables on a peaceful balcony in Gion. J is a great host, a Kyoto local who speaks perfect English and shares a lot of information that is well matched to the group's interests and existing knowledge rather than tightly following a script. He clearly knows the Kyoto leisure districts, drinking culture and food well and loves his city, and that comes through in this fun tour. The drinks allocation is generous, comfortably more than we got through in a night, and we really enjoyed the food. Favourites for us were the fermented firefly squid, in season in May, which paired beautifully with drinks, and the beef dish at the last izakaya, which was delicious. Equally, if your preference is for the more familiar karaage and tempura-style dishes, that is catered for too.
We went to places that we never would’ve found on our own.

We had a fabulous time with Nami! We went to izakaya bars we would have never seen without a guide. Nami taught us about the history of Pontocho, showed us how to read the sake bottles to learn about their qualities, and had fascinating discussions about Japanese culture.
