Maak je eigen paar traditionele Japanse eetstokjes in deze hands-on workshop in Kyoto. In deze Beginner vriendelijke ervaring zul je je eetstokjes vormen, schuren en afwerken terwijl je leert over hun rol in het Japanse dagelijks leven en cultuur. De workshop omvat Japans hinoki (cipres) hout zonder extra kosten, bekend om zijn lichte gewicht en aangename natuurlijke aroma. Gasten kunnen er ook voor kiezen om te upgraden naar andere premium houtsoorten zoals blankhout, kersenhout, walnoot of paarshart voor een extra vergoeding, elk met een unieke kleur en textuur. Tijdens de ervaring zal uw Gids de culturele achtergrond van eetstokjes en Japans vakmanschap op een eenvoudige en boeiende manier uitleggen. Er is geen voorafgaande ervaring nodig en alle stappen worden zorgvuldig begeleid. Aan het einde van de workshop neem je je handgemaakte eetstokjes mee naar huis als betekenisvol en persoonlijk souvenir uit Japan. It’s harder than it looks! But the workers are nice and give you advice/ as many new blocks of wood as needed.
The overall experience is a cool idea and the process is very simple to follow. The only issue we had was with the equipment. The plane tools we started with were dull and the blade was pushing out too far so it ended up ruining several blocks of wood as we attempted to follow the process. The guides were helpful and explained the process well. It would be best if they did a regular check of the tools to ensure they are ready to use for people coming through.
