De Kutaisi-wandeltocht biedt een boeiende reis door het hart van de Georgische cultuur en geschiedenis. Geniet van een wijnproeverij bij een lokale wijnmakerij, proef de unieke smaken van Imeretische wijn en probeer een traditionele Georgische lunch met de rijke Imeretische keuken. Na het museum rijden we naar de kathedraal van Bagrati die uitkijkt over de stad. Het werd gebouwd in de 11e eeuw als een symbool van verenigd Georgië.
Daarna verhuizen we naar het Gelati-klooster uit de 12e eeuw. Er zijn 3 grote kerken, een academie, graf van David de Bouwer, klokkentoren en huizen van monniken in het complex. Het werd gebouwd door de grootste Georgische koning David The Builder.
Motsameta-klooster is gerelateerd aan het verhaal van gemartelde broederheren David en Constantine Mkheidze. Het is gebouwd op de klif en is van drie kanten omringd door de rivier. De aard en kleuren rond het klooster zijn verbluffend.
Wandeltocht in het stadscentrum van Kutaisi
Eerst rijden we naar Tskaltubo en bezoeken Spring #6, waar de Gids vertelt over de Sovjetbezetting. Daarna lopen we naar de Spring #8 die de meest ongewone architectuur heeft onder de Tskaltubo bronnen. De volgende plaats is Spring #5. De volgende stop is Sanatorium Gelati, speciaal gebouwd voor kinderen en er is een oude speeltuin en een prachtig uitzichtpunt over de binnenste constructie. Na "Gelati" lopen we naar sanatorium "Medea", aansluitend met "Druzhba". De laatste sequentie van de tour is het treinstation van Tskaltubo.
De laatste activiteit van de tour is wijnproeven in de lokale wijnbar - Amber wijn. Zodra we daar aankomen de gastheer - Irakli vertelt ons over de wijnen en andere drankjes in zijn bar. De tafel met glazen, wijnen en snacks is al voor ons gedekt. We nemen plaats en Irakli begint te vertellen over de wijngeschiedenis, cultuur en wijnbouwtechnieken in Georgië. Daarna beginnen we één voor één wijnen te proeven en doen we food pairing. Zodra alle 4 de wijnen voorbij zijn sluiten we af met Chacha dat is Georgische spirt drank en wordt gemaakt door druiven of wijndistillatie. Na afloop van de ervaring kunnen gasten in de bar blijven en 's avonds verder gaan met hun favoriete wijnen.

This tour is perfect if you are short on time in Kutaisi as you get to see a bit of everything. The highlight was the winery visit- the food and wine were delicious and I was able to buy some wine. Special shout out to Lasha who was a fantastic guide.
Good tour to discover some highlights in Kutaisi ( the Gelati is closed for the moment for restauration) and a visit to a wineyard ( Baia & family), both our guide Saba and Baia gave us good insights and patiently answered questions. Last but not least: the Georgian spread was amazing!
This tour was fantastic ! We got to learn so much thanks to our guide. The beautiful religious architecture, the history of Gerogia, the interesting spots in Kutaissi, the wine culture... It was very fun and thanks to our guide we felt very safe during the whole time.

The trip i took with Budget Georgia is really worth the money. We spent a full day discovering historical cathedrals, got to learn about their culture. Went to the winery and what a lovely people there! The authentic Georgian food amazing!! I highly recommend booking your trips with these guys. They have also transfer services to other cities and their prices are really affordable. My guide was Mariami and she is a pleasant person. We had so much fun, laughs and good memories that i will taking home with me♥️
amazing experience. the guide was very knowledgable and we got to know a lot about georgian history. he explained us the processes of wine-making, which added more value to the experience. the dinner was unforgettable and there were even many vegan options available.
