Bezoek de Kelpies, de grootste paardenbeelden ter wereld, evenals het Falkirk Wheel, de enige bootlift ter wereld. Verken ook de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van de stad Glasgow in deze Shore Excursion vanuit Greenock. Bezoek de 12e eeuwse Glasgow Cathedral, de beroemde Glasgow Necropolis, het oudste huis in Glasgow, de grootste terracotta fontein ter wereld, de beroemde Glasgow Murals, het op een na grootste neogotische gebouw in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, de beroemde Kelvingrove Art Gallery en het award winnende Transport Museum.

Eerst nemen we je mee naar de Kelpies: de grootste paardenstandbeelden ter wereld.
Vervolgens bezoeken we het Falkirk Wheel - 's werelds eerste en enige roterende scheepslift. Dit iconische Schotse monument en staaltje techniek is 35 meter hoog en vervoert boten tussen de twee kanalen.
We gaan dan verder naar Glasgow en onze eerste stop is bij de kathedraal van Glasgow. De kathedraal van Glasgow, gebouwd in de 12e eeuw, overleefde de protestantse Reformatie vrijwel intact en is nu de meest complete middeleeuwse kathedraal op het Schotse vasteland.
Grenzend aan de kathedraal van Glasgow kunt u desgewenst de Necropolis verkennen. De Necropolis, opgericht in 1831 en gebouwd in de architectonische stijl van de Klassieke Revival, en gemodelleerd naar Père-Lachaise in Parijs, heeft ongeveer 3.500 graven. Toegang inbegrepen.
Hier heeft u ook de mogelijkheid om Provand's Lordship te bezoeken. Gebouwd in 1471, is dit het oudste huis in Glasgow.
Naast Provand's Lordship kunt u, als u dat wenst, het St Mungo Museum voor Religieus Leven en Kunst bezoeken. Toegang inbegrepen.
Als we het Cathedral Precint verlaten, nemen we je mee naar de Doulton Fountain, gebouwd voor de internationale tentoonstelling van 1888 in Glasgow. Dit is de grootste terracotta fontein ter wereld.
Vervolgens gaan we naar West End, via enkele van de ongelooflijke Glasgow Murals. Eenmaal in West End nemen we je mee naar het hoofdgebouw van de Universiteit van Glasgow: het Gilbert Scott-gebouw. Dit is na Westminster Palace het grootste neogotische gebouw in Groot-Brittannië.
Vervolgens nemen we je mee naar de Kelvingrove Art Gallery, gebouwd in 1901 in Spaanse barokstijl. Hier kun je een reeks collecties bekijken, evenals een gerestaureerd Spirtfire-vliegtuig uit WO II.
Tot slot, als de tijd het toelaat, sluiten we onze tour af door u naar het award winnende Transport Museum te brengen voordat we u terugbrengen naar uw cruiseschip of andere vakantieaccommodatie.

Our tour guide Gerry took us on a full day tour from the cruise port to Loch Lomond, the town of Luss, Inveraray, the Coos and the Kelpies. Gerry’s knowledge and stories of the area made for a wonderful full day tour we appreciated the time that he took with us to show us the larger sites as well as the smaller sites along the way. We took this tour as part of a cruise stop. And Gerry was very conscious of the time that we needed to be back to the ship. By the end of the tour we felt like Gerry was part of the family and Scotland was a little bit like home.

Our driver, Simon, was personable, flexible, courteous. He made our day a memorable one because he was willing to personalize our itinerary to help us see some places and things that were of special interest to us. Once he got the sense of the kind of interests we had, he made some excellent suggestions to round out our experience. Our side trip to the little town of Luss proved to be one of the highlights of our day. Simon was also attentive to our needs by providing water, a step stool to get in and out of his van, and his suggestion for lunch in the town of Callander. Lastly, our last experience was with the Falkirk Wheel. Simon took time to explain how it worked and waited patiently while we watched the wheel operate. All in all, we had a great day getting out into the countryside outside of Glasgow. I highly recommend his services as both a good driver and guide.

We had an amazing private tour of the Scottish Highlands area with Gerry. The tour had a standard itinerary but Gerry let us customize it to see and do a few things we specifically requested. Gerry is very knowledgeable about this area and provided us with a lot of very interesting historical facts along our tour. He went above and beyond what we expected to make sure we enjoyed our day with him! Gerry was very professional and very easy to work with. Our communications with E2G and Gerry were very clear and timely!
