We nemen je mee naar een stadstour van 5 uur in Athene, beginnend vanaf je cruiseterminal. Wij wachten op u bij de uitgang van uw terminal met een bordje met uw naam en brengen u naar het stadscentrum. We klimmen de heuvel van de Akropolis op om het beroemde Parthenon, de tempel voor de godin Athene, boven de stad te zien staan. Het Erechthion, gedeeltelijk gewijd aan Poseidon en natuurlijk de monumentale toegangspoort tot het fort van de Akropolis. Uiteraard mag u de tempel van de koning der goden, Zeus, en het historische Olympisch stadion uit 1896 niet missen. De volgende stop is de wisseling van de wacht bij het oude paleis en dan rijden we je door de stad om foto's te maken van de prachtige neoklassieke gebouwen en vervolgens naar de hoogste heuvel van Athene, waar je kunt genieten van een onvergetelijk uitzicht. Tenslotte volgt de trots van de stad, het Nieuwe Akropolismuseum, waar u de sculpturen van het Parthenon van dichterbij kunt zien, de mooiste kunstwerken uit de Gouden Eeuw. Ervaar wat Athene was en wat het vandaag is!

Beklim de heuvel van de Akropolis om het beroemde Parthenon, de tempel voor de godin Athene, boven de stad te zien staan. Het Erechthion, gedeeltelijk gewijd aan Poseidon, de God van de Oceaan en natuurlijk de monumentale toegangspoort tot het fort van de Akropolis.
Natuurlijk zal de tempel van de koning der goden, Zeus, niet ontbreken, aangezien deze de grootste tempel is die ooit in Griekenland is gebouwd. We rijden langs de imposimg-kolommen en als je wilt, kun je zelfs een korte stop maken voor een beter zicht.
Stop om een foto te maken van het historische stadion waar in 1896 de eerste moderne Olympische Spelen werden gehouden!
We brengen je naar de hoogste heuvel van Athene, de Lycabrttus-heuvel, waar je kunt genieten van een onvergetelijk uitzicht.
De volgende stop is de wisseling van de wacht bij het oude paleis boven het centrale plein van Athene. Wees getuige van de Evzones-eenheid van het Griekse leger die met discipline het graf van de onbekende soldaat bewaakt.
Rijd langs de Academie van Athene, onderdeel van de eerste universiteit van Griekenland, die het mooiste neoklassieke gebouw van het land is.
We bezoeken het nieuwe Akropolismuseum, waar u de sculpturen van het Parthenon van dichterbij kunt zien, de mooiste kunstwerken uit de Gouden Eeuw.

We took this tour as part of our cruise on the Sun Princess. Our driver met us at the terminal exactly at the scheduled pick up time. We are not people who like to get started too early in the morning. Because this was a private tour we were able to set the start time to midmorning. Another benefit of a private tour is all the time you save that it takes to load and unload a tour bus. Our driver took us directly to the Acropolis where the guide that had been arranged for the Acropolis tour was waiting. Because there were only 3 of us we were easily able to navigate through the crowd, find out-of-the-way places to listen to the guide and carry on a conversation with the guide throughout the tour. The guide’s knowledge added a great deal of value to the tour. When we finished at the Acropolis our driver was waiting and we continued to the other sites. Our driver customized the sites we went to to meet our interests. While not a guide at the sites, the driver was able to narrate about Athens as we drove and provide information about the sites. He was professional and knowledgeable. We returned to the port as scheduled before all-aboard time. This tour made the most of our one day in Athens while accommodating our wishes.

We had an excellent tour of the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora with Eleni Maina on 5/28/24. Eleni has an expert level command of Greek history, the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora. Eleni supplemented her comments with prepared visual materials that helped explain the subject matter. Eleni speaks fluent English and she responded directly to each of our many questions.
