De excursie naar de Kuriat-eilanden aan boord van het jacht Lake Maggiore is een onmisbare activiteit in Monastir, waarbij ontdekking, ontspanning en natuur samenkomen. Het programma omvat een bezoek aan een aquacultuurkwekerij die gespecialiseerd is in de kweek van zeebrasem, waar men inzicht krijgt in dit innovatieve project, en het observeren van dolfijnen in hun natuurlijke leefomgeving. De deelnemers genieten van een duik in het turquoise water rondom het eiland en een ontspannend moment op het ongerepte strand. Een presentatie over de lokale biodiversiteit wordt verzorgd door de vereniging Notre Grand Bleu, die zich inzet voor de bescherming van zeeschildpadden en eilandecosystemen. Op het eiland wordt een traditionele Tunesische lunch geserveerd. Een begeleide wandeling naar de archeologische vindplaatsen biedt u ook de mogelijkheid om het rijke historische erfgoed te ontdekken. Voor optimaal comfort is het jacht aan het Lago Maggiore een luxe boot met airconditioning, uitgerust met alle nodige voorzieningen.

Bezoek de viskwekerijen in de zee voor de kust van de Kuriat-eilanden en observeer de dolfijnen.
Een prachtig strand om te snorkelen, met activiteiten ter plaatse zoals kajakken en suppen. Me and my family had an amazing time on this trip. Planning and execution of the trip was flawless and operator was so helpful they gave us all the information we needed before the trip, everything was supplied for us ie water, food and melon was all included as described, transfer from and to hotel was flawless. Guide took us to the yatch and collected at end of the trip. I would highly recommend this trip and this company nothing was too much. Overall we had a experience that we all enjoyed and appreciated, totally worth going on. We would go on this trip again on our next time in tunisia. Highly recommend

Magnificent yacht, very clean including the restrooms 😍 Very welcoming staff, professional and attentive to the clients. Delicious and generous meal. Wonderful day out. Picked up exactly on time from our hotel. Arrived at the harbour. Our guide was great helped us find a cash machine. The boat was lovely and relaxing and the staff on board were so welcoming. The island itself is lovely were were seated in the shade. Beautiful clear waters. The edge of the island is protected by seaweed. There were lovely hammocks too if you wanted to use them..we saw where the turtles meets were ,watched the eggs being buried by the nature reserve and even got to see a sea turtle being released back into the sea. Then we ate a lovely well prepared plate of food with bbq chicken, fiah rice , salad and bread Once back on the boat we stopped of for a swim ,where you could jump off if you wanted to. Drinks amd cornettos on board. Then we sailed to a fishing area in the sea and had the pleasure of seeing dolphins, all around the boat, then past a beautiful little island with caves where we seen the local children jumping off to show us they could cheering " welcome to tunisia" and all past the beautiful marina before docking. Our guide was great with us and full of information. Although some of another group wernt happy about the seaweed. Its is an inhabited island and a nature reserve for turtles. This is natural. We had n overall great day and would highly recommemd the experience. .

This was a fun trip, we unfortunately did not see any dolphins or turtles but obviously nothing is ever guaranteed when it comes to wildlife. The staff on the boat was very friendly and provided us with music. The island was very small, although there was a lot of seaweed on and near the beach (I think they explained that it helped against erosion and disappearing beach space) if you walked out a bit then the water was beautifully clear and shallow for a long way out. We also got a presentation about the sea turtle protection and conservation efforts that take place on the island, and had some time to jump off the top deck of the boat.

Good day out with the family, the water was beautiful , staff was nice and friendly. Food was really nice. Only downside is the timings of the trip was not the same as advertised. We didn’t get time to swim in the middle of the sea, we got in and was told to get out straight away as the small boat to take us to the island was there. No dolphins or turtles which i know can’t be helped. Just felt it was a little rushed. Apart from that it was a really nice day and would recommend for the price.

The Truth About Kuriat Island: A Major Disappointment 🚨 I went to the Kuriat Islands expecting a pristine, untouched nature reserve. Instead, I found a textbook example of what happens when people prioritize fast money. If you are thinking about booking a boat trip here, save your money. Here is the reality of what it is actually like right now: trash everywhere, horrible smell and nothing to do 😓 The amount of litter left behind by tourists and boats is heartbreaking. Between the unmanaged waste and the sheer volume of overgrown sea weed, parts of the island smell terrible. It completely ruins the "island escape" vibe. Once the boat drops you off, you are essentially stuck on a crowded strip of beach with zero infrastructure or meaningful activities, just waiting for the boat to take you back.

The Kuriat Islands are a protected nature reserve rather than a developed tourist destination. One of the characteristics of this unique ecosystem is the presence of Posidonia seagrass, which is a protected marine plant. While it may not always look appealing, it plays a vital role in protecting the coastline from erosion and supporting marine biodiversity. Regarding your comments about there being "nothing to do," we'd like to clarify that visitors can explore several natural and educational attractions on the island. These include visiting the Sea Turtle Conservation Association's office to learn about their important work, seeing the protected sea turtle nesting areas (during the nesting season), following the hiking trail to the island's salt lake, discovering the historic ruins on the opposite side of the island, and snorkeling around the old harbour, where the underwater scenery is particularly interesting. We also share your concern about litter. Unfortunately, despite ongoing conservation efforts and regular clean-up initiatives, waste left behind by some visitors can occasionally affect the environment. Protecting the islands is a shared responsibility, and we continue to support initiatives that preserve this exceptional natural site.
