Begin uw tour met hotel pick-up van uw hotel. Zorg dat u 15 minuten voor de ophaaltijd klaarstaat in de lobby van uw hotel.
Nadat u bent opgehaald bij uw hotellobby in Kuala Lumpur, begint u aan een 2 uur durende schilderachtige rit naar Melaka. Op weg ernaartoe deelt uw Engelssprekende Driver cum Guide inzichten in de rijke geschiedenis van de stad terwijl u onderweg beroemde bezienswaardigheden aanwijst.
Bezoek de iconische St. Paul Hill, de thuisbasis van de oudste christelijke kerk in Zuidoost-Azië, de St. Paul's Church. Deze historische locatie ligt op een heuvel en biedt een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht op Malakka en de Straat van Malakka. Het charmante plein is een hoogtepunt van het Nederlandse koloniale erfgoed van Malakka en een geweldige plek om de levendige sfeer van de stad te verkennen.
Wandel langs Harmony Street, een van de cultureel meest diverse en levendige gebieden van Malakka. Hier vindt u een unieke mix van architectonische stijlen en eeuwenoude religieuze bezienswaardigheden, waaronder de Cheng Hoon Teng-tempel (de oudste Chinese tempel in Maleisië) en de Kampung Kling-moskee. Deze straat weerspiegelt prachtig de harmonieuze co-existentie van verschillende culturen en biedt een venster op de multiculturele geschiedenis van Malakka.
Neem vervolgens een pauze om te genieten van een heerlijke Peranakan-maaltijd, waarbij de rijke smaken van de keuken van Malakka worden getoond. Na de lunch maak je een riviercruise van 40 minuten om schilderachtige vergezichten te zien over bruggen, winkeltjes en soms zelfs de monitorhagedis. Na uw boottocht bezoekt u Kampung Morten, een traditioneel Maleis dorp dat de thuisbasis is van Villa Sentosa, een levend geschiedenismuseum dat het Maleise leven uit het begin van de 20e eeuw inkapselt.
Stap binnen in het traditionele dorp Kampung Morten, een charmante nederzetting aan de rivier die het Maleise erfgoed van Malakka bewaart. Bekend om zijn goed bewaarde houten huizen, biedt dit pittoreske dorpje een kijkje in het lokale leven zoals het in het verleden was. Maak een wandeling door de rustige straatjes, waar het rijke culturele erfgoed van de Maleise gemeenschap tot leven komt door traditionele architectuur, weelderig groen en lokaal vakmanschap. Stop voor uw terugkeer naar Kuala Lumpur bij de oudste bar van Malakka om een laatste vleugje authenticiteit toe te voegen aan uw reis.

Mohammed, our guide, knew his history and other facts very well, sharing general information/ knowledge about Malaysia in a fun way, at all times treating each person inclusively and acceptingly, making us feel safe. The tour was diverse including a boat trip, visit to historic landmarks, time for shopping, a great traditional ‘Nyonya’ lunch and a visit to three temples (Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist.) The vehicle was plush and comfortable. Excellent driving through challenging traffic. Well worth it and an enjoyable day. I had a bit of trouble initially contacting Viator through the app at the start of the day. Fortunately Mohammed eventually found me at the designated pick up spot after an anxious moment. A bit more info on car number and a video showing where to go exactly to find the vehicle might have helped.

A great way to visit Malacca from KL. Good comms, timely pick-up, modern, comfortable minibus. Our guide Yoga was a great ambassador for Malacca and indeed Malaysia. Very knowledgeable, welcoming and considerate, he made the trip great fun. Cruise (apparently weather permitting) was a highlight and the lunch was very convivial.

Magical Evening River CruiseI had a wonderful experience on the Malacca River Cruise. I highly recommend taking the cruise in the evening or after sunset. The colorful lights reflecting on the water create a magical atmosphere, and the boat ride feels even more enjoyable. The views along the river are beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for taking photos. It was one of the highlights of my trip, and I would definitely do it again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great tour, well worth it, Yoga is a fantastic guide, I enjoyed all the historical sites and Jonker Street. Portuguese tarts are a must try!

A great day out to Malacca with our lovely friendly guide Easther, who was very informative about the place and the history, which was really interesting. A nice lunch and a 100 year old bar in the old town wrapped up the day nicely. I was travelling solo and there was 1 other guest, so it was small, which for us, was great! My only thing was that it let me book my hotel for pick up, but I was then told it wasn’t in the area an to find my way to another pick up point. My hotel should not really be listed in the first place to avoid this confusion as there was a bit of back and forth.

Enjoyed a full day tour exploring Malacca. The river cruise was wonderful, great scenery, beautiful buildings and even got to see a few monitor lizards. Yoga our tour guide was great, full of information and a genuinely lovely guy. The town of Malacca is vibrant, colourful and full of history. Loved walking down Jonkie Street, so much to see. Really need to spend a few days here to take it all in. They have managed to pack this day full of interesting sights. Definitely worth booking. It’s about 2/3 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur, traffic depending. The mini bus was comfortable and air conditioned.
