Geniet van een busrit over de snelweg tot we onze bestemming bereiken: de Krka-watervallen. Maar voordat we naar Krka komen, stoppen we even in etno-agropark Stella Croatica op Klis. Hier krijgt u inzicht in het Dalmatische gastronomische erfgoed en de schoonheid van natuurlijke en ecologische producten. Na deze korte pauze in de sfeer van een oud Dalmatisch dorp en moderne familieproductie van biologische producten gaan we verder richting de Krka-watervallen. De Krka-rivier is een prachtige rivier omgeven door ongerepte landschappen en weelderige vegetatie, die door het Nationaal park Krka stroomt. We bezoeken Skradinski Buk, waar het water van de rivier vele kleine meren en beken vormde. Maak een wandeling door de paden en geniet van de natuur. Vergeet niet de etnografische collectie en oude molens te bezoeken! Ervaar de ultieme natuurlijke schoonheid in het Krka Nationaal Park, een van de wildste natuurlijke schatten van Kroatië. Je krijgt de kans om de meest frisse lucht in te ademen en het met watervallen bespatte landschap van Skradinski Buk te verkennen. Er is ook een bezoek aan Stella Croatica, beroemd om zijn handgemaakte goederen. Peter, een van onze lokale gidsen, zegt: 'Nationaal Park Krka is niet alleen een toevluchtsoord voor natuurliefhebbers, maar ook een plaats van historisch en cultureel belang. In het park vind je verschillende oude forten, overblijfselen van oude Romeinse nederzettingen en middeleeuwse kloosters.
Je begint je avontuur met een bezoek aan Stella Croatica, waar je kunt genieten van lokale, handgemaakte delicatessen en lokale smaken kunt proeven. En als je aankomt in het Krka Nationaal Park, bereid je dan voor op een dag vol ontdekkingen. Schilderachtige houten loopbruggen slingeren door een adembenemend landschap bezaaid met watervallen en rustige meren en bieden onderweg prachtige uitzichten en fotomomenten. Je hebt ook de mogelijkheid om meer te leren over lokale tradities en een historische watermolen te bezoeken.
Maar het hoogtepunt van je bezoek is ongetwijfeld Skradinski Buk – een spectaculair natuurlijk zwembad omgeven door 17 watervallen, die een dramatische en fotogenieke achtergrond creëren. Dit gebied is niet alleen een lust voor het oog, maar ook een vitale habitat voor diverse wilde dieren. Houd je ogen open voor het gevarieerde vogelleven van het park, waaronder nachtegalen, reigers, valken en uilen, die bijdragen aan de natuurlijke uitstraling van het park. Je hebt hier wat vrije tijd om de omgeving te verkennen en ook een hapje te eten.

A wonderful National Park, the waterfalls were stunning, helped no doubt by the thunderstorms the day before our visit!!
The National Park was really beautiful but it was a very long journey on the coach back and forth to spend just 3hrs there. There are lots of steps and the ground is very uneven around the suggested waterfall walk so it is not suitable unless you are pretty fit - my elderly parents were disappointed that they were unable to do this. It would have been great if a boat trip around the lakes had been included too. The stop off on the way there to sample and buy olive oils etc. was very good.
Fantastic place, weather on top, water crystal clear. May be that the beaches are a bit narrow in places so it can quickly get crowded. We were there the last week of August, it was still the holiday season and the schools have not started. I can imagine that the first week in September is perfect, still warm and tasty, much less people.
We booked this tour expecting what the itinerary described: a 1.5-hour journey to Krka National Park, 4 hours to explore the waterfalls with a guided commentary, plus scheduled visits elsewhere. What we got was completely different. Firstly, we made an unadvertised stop at a factory for over an hour, including a 20-30 minute tour and gift shop visit. This was not on the itinerary, and no one in our group wanted to be there, it delayed our arrival at the park from the promised 9:45 to 11:30. This meant walking the park in peak midday heat, with only 2 hours 45 minutes to explore instead of the 4 hours stated, and in extremely busy conditions. There was no guided tour of the park as advertised, we were simply given a map and told to explore on our own. The return journey was chaotic: the coach arrived 35 minutes late in 35°C heat, with no communication from the company despite having our contact details. Finally, the air conditioning on the coach broke, and we were left standing on the roadside in the heat waiting for a replacement bus. For almost £200, this was absolutely not as described and was extremely poorly managed. The guide herself was lovely and did her best, but the itinerary was misleading, the organisation unacceptable, and the experience uncomfortable and unsafe at times. I would not recommend booking with this company, arranging your own visit to the park would be far better value and far less stressful.

Its a very beautiful place and there had been lots of rain in the previous days and weeks which meant the water was very dramatic. We were blessed with lovely weather while there and enjoyed walking round the lake and exploring the watermills. Great for photographers. Had a great time and would highly recommend.

A very beautiful natural area with the most beautiful waterfalls. You can wander around the park and get the most beautiful pictures. The water in the river is the clearest with fish in it.

Top guides! Interesting stories in the bus, good organisation, amusing day, stunning view in the park. But the guides were not too "blabla" so they left us time for us :)
