Eens onafhankelijk, was de stad ten zuiden van Wawel eeuwenlang het centrum van het Joodse leven in Krakau, en tegenwoordig is het een van de grootste toeristische attracties van de stad
Szeroka Street is het hart van het Joodse Kazimierz. Laat een getuigenis van de betekenis ervan het feit zijn dat er vroeger vier synagogen op straat stonden, iets wat nergens anders in Europa voorkwam.
Staande op Szeroka Street Street, niet alleen bekend als het podium van het laatste concert van het Joodse Cultuurfestival, maar ook als het eeuwenoude centrum van het Joodse leven in Kazimierz, is een van de oudste synagogen in Polen die in zo'n goede staat bewaard is gebleven
De parochiekerk van St. Joseph is een kenmerkende, algemeen herkenbare plaats van devotie. Het domineert over het marktplein van Podgórze, een centraal punt van de stad die pas in de 20e eeuw werd ingelijfd bij Krakau.

Gelegen in de wijk Podgórze, die in 1941 werd omgevormd tot het getto van Krakau, werd de voormalige Plac Zgody [Concord Square] tijdens de nazi-bezetting aangeduid als 'Umschlagplatz', de plaats waar de joden moesten samenkomen om te worden gedeporteerd.
Deze symbolische plaats is een klein lichtpuntje op de kaart van de tragische plaats die het Joodse getto was. De toenmalige Poolse apotheek fungeerde als asiel of ambassade, bood onderdak tijdens deportaties en bezorgde berichten of pakketten binnen en buiten het getto.
Waar de tumultueuze geschiedenis van een wereldoorlog het dagelijkse leven en het privéleven ontmoet - een tragedie die de hele wereld trof.

This tour was amazing as someone who has never visited the city. Exceptional detail & facts about each corner of the town, lots of history, and chances to get out and explore gardens, churches, synagogues, etc. Tour guide was Martina and she was AMAZING!! 10/10 tour.
My sister and I took this tour. We sat at the back, and unfortunately the guide did not have the audio equipment we had seen in other buggies. Although he was giving commentary at several sites, we were unable to hear him. The tour was very fast paced and quite fun although you had to hang on for you life.
If you're looking for the "highlights" tour, this is a good option. There are many notable landmarks to see as you ride comfortably in an electric golf cart. The tour is relatively short but covers the major sights in the Jewish quarter and ghettos. While the cart stops, briefly, at the most notable landmarks, you are not able to get out and explore except for 2 spots. The operator provides headsets and runs a recording that shares a lot of information along the way. The guide does a nice job of pointing things out as well. The tour was ontime, inexpensive and staff was friendly.
Wonderful tour with Natalie, just wish the cart roof blocked the sun. We stopped at a couple of sites to be able to walk through them on our own. Definitely worth the time and money.
Very cool trip. Exciting stories throughout the tour Beautiful altar in a Jewish church. Good guide who told extra about several places. Can be highly recommended.
We enjoyed this tour round in the electric buggy but would’ve preferred more time to get out in the Jewish quarter & have a proper look round. We hadn’t realised it was mostly a drive by tour. We still enjoyed it though.

Outstanding tour! So much better than I expected and so happy I didn’t do the walking tour. Love that I didn’t have to speed walk to keep up with a guide, nor have to finagle to the front to be able to hear better. Our golf cart at 8 to 10 people, and we didn’t drive around with other carts, so much more intimate and chill vibe that expected. Our guide ran a pre-recorded tape over the speaker so we didn’t have to wear headsets. He also stopped it every so often and added his own commentary. Really nice blend of the information. Because the itinerary said pass by, pass by, pass by, it was surprising that we stopped twice and got to get off. Walked around, on our own & went inside, a beautiful church and a fantastic area where Pope John Paul II gave a famous speech. All the other places we saw, the guide stopped & we had plenty of time to take pictures. The tour was the perfect amount of time, which is unusual because I always feel like they’re either too long or too short. Our guide was kind, informative, and an excellent driver. Do not miss this tour! With the various local people walking around, it really brought home what the Jews lives were like just before Hitler’s “Final Solution”. The tour created the expected sadness in me, but it also gave me hope seeing so many businesses there now flourishing in spite of the heinous past of the area. Take this tour!!
Incredible experience overlaid with sadness for the thousands of people who were murdered or brutally killed in the camps. The golf cart is a very good way to see the Jewish area because it's convenient and environmentally friendly. Tymek is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
