Ontdek de enorme omvang van het Auschwitz-kampsysteem vanuit een uniek perspectief. Deze tour is speciaal ontworpen voor degenen die de volledige topografie en industriële geschiedenis van de site willen begrijpen, vooral wanneer er geen museumtickets beschikbaar zijn. Deze ervaring vindt geheel buiten het officiële museumterrein en kampomheiningen plaats. Door je te concentreren op de perimeter en de omliggende historische locaties – zoals Monowitz, het IG Farben-complex en de oorspronkelijke aankomstplatforms – krijg je een uitgebreid begrip van de logistiek van de Holocaust die standaard binnentochten vaak missen.

Begin uw tour met een pick-up van Bosacka 18. Ontspan dan in 1,5 uur rijden naar Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Onze tour begint in Monowitz, waar het naziregime mensenlevens veranderde in een hulpbron. Je ziet de overblijfselen van het kamp waar duizenden gevangenen, waaronder Nobelprijswinnaar Elie Wiesel, onvoorstelbare omstandigheden doorstonden tijdens hun werk voor de Duitse oorlogsmachine.
Terwijl we richting de hoofdkampen trekken, passeren we de stad Oświęcim. Dit biedt een cruciaal moment van reflectie op de Joodse geschiedenis van de stad voor de oorlog en hoe de lokale bevolking leefde in de directe schaduw van de kampen.
We verkennen de omtrek van de "Stammlager" (Auschwitz I). Staand bij de oorspronkelijke hekken ziet u het administratieve hart van het complex. Een belangrijke stop is het huis van Rudolf Höss, de kampcommandant. Zien waar hij een 'normaal' gezinsleven leidde op slechts enkele meters van de crematoriumschoorstenen biedt een diepgaande blik op de 'banaliteit van het kwaad'.
Vervolgens bezoeken we het authentieke spoorwegperron gelegen tussen de kampen. Hier arriveerden tot 1944 de meeste transporttreinen. Het is een krachtige, rustige site waar de "selectie" van duizenden mensen plaatsvond - een plek die vaak wordt gemist door standaard museumrondleidingen.
Auschwitz II-Birkenau (externe exploratie): U zult getuige zijn van de overweldigende omvang van het grootste vernietigingskamp. Vanaf de perimeter en de iconische "Death Gate", zal uw Gids de lay-out van de ruïnes van de gaskamers en de levensomstandigheden van de gevangenen uitleggen.
Rond je tour af en ga terug naar Krakau naar het startpunt en zie onderweg verschillende bezienswaardigheden. Reis terug naar het centrum van Krakau en eindig met een drop-off in de stad.

Het is ontworpen als een educatief alternatief voor degenen die de sites willen zien die standaard museumtours overslaan (zoals Monowitz) en voor degenen die niet in staat waren om officiële museumtoegangspassen te bemachtigen. Onze focus ligt op de topografie, het industriële complex en de geschiedenis gezien van een respectvolle afstand.

I booked this as a last-minute tour. That being said, what you get to see is extremely limited. If everything is already booked, then this would be your alternative. Other than that, I would recommend booking another tour because this one leaves you feeling like you showed up to see Auschwitz but got turned away at the door.
We had the best experience on our tour .. from start to finish .. our guide Damien was amazing .. he was full of knowledge and was passionate about the whole tour .. he didnt hesitate to respond to any questions in fact encouraged us to ask so we weren't left with any unanswered questions. I loved the fact it was headsets and you could just brows around the particular room we were in and still listen to all the information Damien was giving us .. the groups were kept 2 a small group and everything was really well organised. I wasnt the most knowledgeable about the the whole thing but came away full of knowledge and have since watched a few films since been back recommended by damien and it makes u watch the film with a whole different outlook once you have visited.. highly recommend if visiting krakow

Great atmosphere in a smaller group and excellent storytelling by our friendly guide Damian. Amazing experience. Our guide Damien was amazing and knowledgeable. Although we didn't get to go into most of the places, seeing it and learning about it was what I came for. And the group was small so it felt personal and friendly.

The tour was excellent and very well priced. Our tour guide Damian was an excellent tour guide and this something everyone should visit. It was a very emotional experience. Unfortunately, we were unable to enter the concentration camps and the museum due to a last-minute cancellation by another provider, but Damian, our guide, was incredibly good at explaining all the history from outside, giving us very personalized attention thanks to the small group size, and he saved us from missing Auschwitz during our visit to Kraków.
