Begin over de oude Hawaiiaanse Kaloko-visvijvers en het sprankelende water van Kailua Bay, omringd door Ali'i Drive. Vlieg over de oude Hawaiiaanse Kaloko-visvijvers in het Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park. Deze vijvers zijn belangrijk vanwege hun historische en culturele belang en tonen traditionele aquacultuurpraktijken.
Vaar vervolgens langs de prachtige Kailua-baai. Het staat bekend om zijn kalme, heldere water, perfect om te snorkelen, en is een centrum van activiteit met winkels, restaurants en historische bezienswaardigheden in de buurt.
Vaar over de levendige Ali'i Drive, een schilderachtige kustweg vol met stranden, winkels en culturele bezienswaardigheden.
Als u langs de kust reist, kunt u genieten van een panoramisch uitzicht op het zijdezachte witte zand van Magic Sands Beach. Het strand staat bekend als een populaire plek om te zonnebaden en zwemmen.
Vlieg vervolgens over de overvloedige Kona-koffieboerderijen, waar je rijen koffieplanten ziet die zich uitstrekken over het landschap.
Vanuit de dichte landbouwgrond komen de onderwaterwonderen van het Kealakekua Bay Marine Preserve in zicht. De baai staat bekend om zijn levendige koraalriffen die de kust sieren en het gevarieerde onderwaterleven.
Genesteld in het zeereservaat, kunt u een glimp opvangen van het historische Captain Cook Monument. Het monument ter herdenking van de laatste rustplaats van de beroemde ontdekkingsreiziger.
Maak een aangrijpende bocht rond het heilige terrein dat bekend staat als de Place of Refuge, een plek met een rijke culturele en historische betekenis voor naïeve Hawaïanen.
Vlieg vervolgens naar de unieke geologische formaties van de KaUpulehu-krater, die een adembenemend uitzicht biedt op het vulkanische landschap van het eiland.
Klim over de majestueuze Hualalai-vulkaan, een van de vijf schildvulkanen die het Big Island vormen. De piek bevindt zich op 2.000 meter boven zeeniveau.

I booked this doors off tour for my husband and son. They were very disappointed. The helicopter only went up and down the coast. No waterfalls, no volcanos, nothing to see except the coastline. The trip was very expensive and was not worth the money at all.
I flew with the doors off with Michael as my pilot, he was fantastic. Wilson was an amazing pre flight guide as well. Will definitely fly with them again if the chance ever comes up. HIGHLY recommend doing this on the first day of your trip, as it allows for planning and additions on the trip.
Definitely a must do! Recommend doing early in your trip because we got great recommendations from our pilot of things to do on the island! JoJo was an amazing pilot and getting to see volcanoes from the air is once in a lifetime! Do the doors off, you won't regret it!

An excellent tour - well organized, nice staff, and beautiful vistas of the north and west coasts of the Big Island. This was a true highlight for our first visit to the Big Island. We did the doors on experience instead of doors off - glad we chose doors on for comfort and temperature. We would highly recommend Rainbow Helicopters. A great experience with stunning scenery and good explanations along the way from the pilot. Definitely worth it.
Arrival is easy using the map they send. Checkin is quick and straightforward. The flight was amazing! Beautiful views and the Pilot/ tour guide is super knowledgeable. We had Jojo and he was smooth on the controls, answered all our questions and showed us some beautiful sites. You get down in the valleys to see the waterfalls which was awesome. We booked the 8AM time slot and it was a little chilly with doors off. We had pants and long sleeved shirts and jackets. So be sure to dress accordingly.

Breathtaking views up above ocean and Big Island. Best helicopter ride so far with pilot up front best view! We were 3,000 ft most of the time but went up to mountain in the clouds at 10,000 ft. It was a little chilly then.
