Ontdek het traditionele leven van Cambodja op het TonLe Sap-meer door een bezoek te brengen aan het drijvende dorp Kompong Phluk. Kompong Phluk is een permanente gemeenschap die zijn economie op vissen heeft gebaseerd en wordt omringd door overstroomd bos. Tijdens het droge seizoen kunt u paalwoningen zien die in het natte seizoen tot 8 meter hoog in de lucht stijgen; het water stijgt tot binnen een meter van de gebouwen. Tijdens deze tour van een halve dag ontdekt u een van de meest interessante drijvende dorpen die op het TonLe Sap-meer liggen. Houd veel rekening met de kost van mensen terwijl u uw tour beëindigt en het uitzicht over dit gigantische meer bewondert.

Ga aan boord van onze minibus naar het grote TonLe Sap-meer (het grootste zoetwatermeer in Zuidoost-Azië), dat u een fascinerend inzicht geeft in het echte Cambodjaanse leven. Haal je op bij je hotel door onze lokale gids (zorg ervoor dat je tijdens het boeken je hotelinformatie opgeeft). De rit van Siem Reap naar de pier van de boot kan ongeveer 40 minuten duren. Je wordt uitgenodigd om op een privéboot te varen die naar het drijvende dorp Kompong Phluk leidt (traditioneel drijvend Khmer-dorp op 30 km van Siem Reap). Ontdek de hoge paalwoningen, het drijvende ziekenhuis, de visserij, de oude levensstijl van het land en het natuurlijke landschap van het ondergelopen mangrovebos. De boottocht duurt ongeveer 1.30 – 2 uur en kan variëren afhankelijk van het seizoen.

Sieng was an excellent guide!
The tour was fantastic. Our guide Meng and our driver, Playboy (yes, playboy!) Made the trip extra special. Meng was so engaging from the start sharing some great history about both Cambodia and the lake. He was passionate, entertaining and full on energy. The village and experience on the water was fascinating. I was a little worried that as tourists we may be imposing on village life, but we were made to feel especially welcome. I feel privileged to have enjoyed such an engaging and beautiful experience. Thank you.
Bring a hat. Bring sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Very informative tour learning the fishing culture, exploring the market. Our tour guide Heng taught us a great deal about the religious beliefs regarding the Hindu/Bhuddist religions. The island temple was beautiful.

This was a definite five out of five experience led by experienced and enthusiastic guide Jack and Driver Mr. Nal. The boat tour was fascinating, educational, and interesting, including the stroll through the floating village to see how the people there live. A highlight was an optional canoe ride through the mangroves, which was relaxing and beautiful. Jack was superb in his responsibilities as trip leader. He is knowledgeable, college educated and smart, but most importantly passionate about his country of Cambodia and its people. This excursion exceeded our expectations and is something we would do again on a return trip with family!
